Question about insurgent Special Forces.

Post by Expendable Grunt »

Are they detachments from the MEC army, or what's the background behind them? Are they supposed to me just more veteran than a war veteran?

i'm assuming insurgents team is the rebel team with the red flag...if that's what you're talking about, they aren't attached to the MEC army. Separate faction.

nah I think he means the actual "special forces" kit you can choose while on the Insurgents team..

There are two different "Civilian Uprising" factions in Project Reality. Both fight under the same flag and for the same cause, but there are some distinctions due to the stage of evolution as an Insurgency faction.

The first is the "Insurgent" faction. This is largely made up of civilians who have taken up the call to arms against a conventional army. They are typically poorly equipped but have many unconventional means at their disposal to fight the conventional armies.

The second is a more evolved insurgency in the form of the "Militia" faction. They have a more militaristic structure and reflect that in their more conventional kit load outs. Additionally they have greater access to combat vehicles and weaponry and their missions are typically more "militaristic" than "resistance" oriented.

Both factions will often have an embedded Special Forces Operator working with them. They may have a mercenary also employed within their ranks.

SF Operator must be given something special , which will make him different ... what about calling airstrike ( in the way it was done in FH for BF1942) or arty or whatever ... and some bandages would be nice , he's goddamn SF and doesnt have bandages ?

I read that, but is it supposed to be MEC special forces, or is the kit bag a place holder? I should have worded it more correctly.

And I agree, his kit is a tad (extremely) light for a Spec Ops.

I'm sure I've heard a dev say something about them being ex-special forces from other countries who have come in to help the insurgents. Something along those lines.
