Al Basrah - 5000m View distance!

Post by Desertfox »

I got about like 25-30 FPS. For the ones that dont look far away like the two sniper shots, just look at the minimap! Man if this was added to PR I would **** my pants and I know someone is going to bring up "OMG BUT SNIPERZ!" if a sniper hits you from that far away, you got owned by skill!

Looks immense, how did this affect your FPS compared to normal?

hehe... Well it seems you guys dont mind having lag... By all means, make a map with no fog.

Or design a map like I was (until my infamous invisible terrain bug) and make as little statics as possible. Use terrain to make it look pretty and block the view of long distances, and hey, you got a map with little lag! Have fun.

Damn that looks inviting as far as opening up the engagement ranges. It'd really shine as a night map that way (seeing tracer sprouting all across the city with the various firefights).

This has been brought up before, PR should increase view disntaces on its map by 75%-90% so lets say you up it on every map by 75% then if people want to use the old system of view distance all they have to do is go into view distance options and set it to 25%! I got about 25-45 FPS and thats 5000 I will try and set it to 1500 and see what it is.

The one problem with it is SERIOUS flutter with objects (Not conjoined objects like objects with windows!)

that is retarded in so many ways.

it is in no way fair to give an advantage to players who have a better system.

Is it fair to drag down the view distance for people who do have a good system? Thats what I mean its a standoff. People with high-end computers want higher, people with low end computers want it the same :/
