I also want to give Stigger a well earned pat on the back because his work is really outstanding.

I have for the longest time kept this link to myself but since it has been posted on the TBF2 forums I now feel secure in posting it here.

A question for the DEVs.

(1)

Using the PR DEV modeled C2, would it be possible to create create a functioning or as much as possible, panoramic gyrostabilisted sight with range finder or and if possible aswell, an 8 periscopes, providing a 360° view.

I realise using the present BF2 DEV modeled tanks, this is not possible and i got the impression due to time limitations, such a feature on the new C2 or any new vehicle for that matter, has not been attempted or atleast, the attempt not made public.

Becuase the model is PR's own, therefore the addition of new features, with in the limits of the engine should be possible. This feature, being the back bone and core of tanks, however ancient! Even mR DaVinci's little baby: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image :D a ... boise.jpeg ;-)


I know, due to the fact this is the only PR modeled tank, it could unbalance tank VS tank engagements but personaly, i coudl not give a dam, the mere fact the enemy has a crewman with total 36o° view, while being protected would just make me be alittle more cautious with the moves i made in my tank.
Remember, this mearly offers the 3rd crew member a top notch view while being protected, the protection being the only new thing, although if, zoom or rangefinders could be added, his view would be improved, but again this would not make engaging the C2 impossible using another MTB and this could really just help, represent the C2's overall higher ability in many areas liek gun, armour, fire-control, these being just suggestive areas not facts.

Or even, just a view similiar to the tank/APC driver, but with the ablity to turn around a full 360°.


So it is possible?


If yes, is there a chance that, you will consider it and/ or attempt to implament it or something similar

damn... harsh... but i agree... a release date will be out when it will be able to be met... you cant say itll be out on a set date so far in the future (or not so far) it will come out when they are ready and satisfied.

Well, you are completely wrong, sorry.

You can't spawn at other squad rally point (forward base as you called) so you get moved to the main base. It's not a bug, it's suppose to work like that.

You get text messages at the top of the screen saying you have the wrong kit for that vehicle before you get killed. Was the only way we could make it. Not a bug, it's how it works.

If it was easy to do those things, of course we would do it.

But let me spare you some suggestions in the future. We are pretty locked up on how much modification we can actually do in the game.

We are just volunteers doing this because we like it, and put many many hours trying to modify a game that is not as easy moddable as we would like.

So please don't say that something is "dumb" as we are pushing the game to do things it was never suppose to do.

I have NEVER heard anyone report anything of the things you are saying right now. And most of the things you mention are not bugs at all. For example if you pick another squads rally point to spawn on and your squad does not have a rally point you will spawn at the home base.

A good place to start is with the player guide so that you aren't surprised by these types of things when they happen in game.

Wow sorry to have upset you and I was not trying to come off harsh at all. I saw your post count and assume you were pretty new to the mod. I just wanted to let you know that a lot of what you said were not bugs and actually a part of the game. That why I was pointing you towards the player guide. Also, need to make sure other people reading this don't assume these are bugs as well from your post.

I have to say the PR Dev Team is very open to suggestions and feedback from the community, but with that said this thread is not really the best place to mix in bug reports. If you really feel that you have experienced a bug that has not been reported before please do not hesitate to make a post in the Bugs Forum (http://realitymod.com/forum/f26-bugs.html).

Are bunkers in Barracuda destructable? Looks some are destroyed in the screenshots, but I'm not sure if they start like that or not..

@ Vlad: Generally the team tends to be pretty helpful, but you sorta spewed out a lot of shit that indicates your opinions are based on not having read the player guide, the forums nor played the mod very much. I'd love it if we could fix up a lot of the usability issues and irritations with certain aspects of PR. However we're well into areas of BF2 that were never intended to be modded, so we have to do a lot of clunky work arounds. If we could make these things polished we would, but most of the time there are no facilities within traditional BF modding capabilities to do what we want. So we have to do our best and rely on players reading the player guide content to understand how things work.

Irony and sarcasm is really not the best way to communicate your ideas.
Don't you think that if any of the bugs you mentioned were easy to fix, they would've been fixed already?
Even if they DO find a way to work around the limitations of the game engine the sheer number of lines of code involved is mindboggling.

This mod is not perfect. It has bugs in it and even some rather obvious ones such as spelling errors here and there and if you look closely at the top of your screen when you spawn in to a new round, have a look at the spawn timer. Look for the number "6". ;)

Also, like Dizzy said, found what you think is a bug, then report it in the bugs forum.
Be constructive. That is a general advice here. ;)
