The red square that appears when you're near a mine.

I've never seen that...

I have the 3D map off most of the time, only turn it on when I need to check things( position and such).
It looks like shit when you have flag markers everywhere.
-----
Mines are only a problem when people mine their own bases, which I call stupidity, which happens too often.
Mines are to prevent the enemy armour to move to places we don't want them to move.
Mines in BF2 are a joke.
Even if you warn in team chat in CAPITALS, which I've never seen, people won't notice it.

let me correct you, IRL you know where your friendly minefields are if someone tells you. AFAIK people can't magically detect if there is a friendly mine next to them.'[R-DEV wrote:Riki_Rude_BTYC']IRL you know where your friendly minefields are.
I think that's how it should be in the game too, maybe if possible add a marker to the map on every friendly mine, but the red skull should go.

IRL you have a vast logistical network to make sure you know.

Absolutely.'[R-DEV wrote:Riki_Rude_BTYC']We definatly won't remove it, IRL you know where your friendly minefields are.
THere is no way in hell any PR team could be co-ordinated enough to place mines, tell their squad leader to tells the commander who tells the other SLs who tell all their troops who all remember.
