greetings,
recently me and a buddy have quite successfully used what we call a "nest". we use that if our squad is spread out or split, therefore no medic available, and we are just 2 shooters (ideally rifleman/ammo) buddying up.
purpose:
compensate for a missing medic in your vicinity and keep alive longer.
how to:
we use that if we're both rifleman/ammo with an advantage of firepower (more frags and smoke, faster reloads) but a disadvantage of healing capacity (i.e. no medic).
2 riflemen/ammo choose a resupply spot, usually right inside a firing position. we both drop 2 ammo bags (it seems that standing on 4 ammo bags reloads your gear quicker) and our 2 first aid kits.
then we wait a bit until we both have re-loaded our first aid kits, only then do we open fire.
advantages:
if one of us gets hit he is basically sitting right on top of 2 first aid kists for an immediate fix. plus we both have one more each to hand out if necessary as well.
that way we get patched up rather qiockly while still having our rifles in hand to engage and can fall back to alternate firing positions quickly avoiding elimination of flanking enemies (usually

)
it doesn't take long to set that nest up and you can basically make countless ones with the rifleman/ammo kit.
works well in hold/secure situation.
works for an individual rifleman/ammo as well, just a bit slower.
disadvantages:
it obviously is useless if you get critically shot and would need to be de-fibrillated and revived by a medic.
works less well in cqb situations.
conclusion:
if we decide to compromise medical support for firepower and both go rifleman (or if the situation just develops in such a way) we do get away with injuries fairly well and find this "nest" a usefull little technique to keep alive longer.
hope it works for some of you, too.
