Map Idea
OK, my map idea focuses heavily on objectives. It would be insurgents/rebels/militia vs US and would take place around an airport in the Middle East...and more importantly a plane. Air Force One to be exact. 747-200. The OPFOR have, "hijacked" the plane and are demanding US $500,000,000 and enough fuel to fly across the Gulf Of Oman and to Dubai. The OPFOR will have a "rally point" on the plane which self-destructs after a few minutes, stopping people from unrealistically spawning back on the plane, and presenting the tactic of securing the area to the US. The plane, AF1, will be a moving "static" object (that is, it can't be flown by the player) and will eventually land at the airport for refuelling, and so the US can wipe out the OPFOR. Map objectives would be to drive a fuel truck to AF1, with the "commander" carrying a brief-case full of counterfeit money (in a CTF style) and dropping it off outside the plane. The US then board the plane through one of the cargo doors underneath and assault the OPFOR. Side objectives for squads to undergo would be to, destroy the cockpit and all the gauges/controls in it so that the OPFOR can't "take-off" again, and to try and keep that plane on the ground at all costs! (Plane will not take off again however

Yes, I know that, however this could be a nice change from some maps. I'm not suggesting you guys go all out nuts adding stuff like this, but it could prove to be an interesting situation for anyone who plays this mod. Or it could simply be used as a co-op training map with the plane grounded, teaching people about objectives, rally points, what to do, what not to do etc.

I don't like, the bf2 statics simple things such as ladders and stair cases are horrible obstacles.
EA tried Somthing like this with Irongater and look at the state of that. this would also require tonnes and tonnes of work for just one map. IMHO the bf2142 titans are far more suited for things like this.

I might be fun, but I don't like the small operations that the Special Forces do. I prefer the full scale combat, thats why I bought BF2 in the first place.
Hasn't this been suggested before, the exact same thing, about airforce one.

actually they would have Mig-21s with Rockets and a Large Cannon, yes thats right, there are many 21s in the desert and quite easy to fly, heck they might even have Missiles

Insurgents in real life are constantly testing the security forces at airports and other vital forward outposts. In fact, quite a few scaled and "organized" attacks have happened at airports which have been converted into bases.
Insurgents and more specifically, militarized insurgents, do have access to old or black market aircraft that they hide. Problem is, the US would stomp them hardcore in the air, because of their lack in firepower or number. Maybe one or two aircraft at the most, but still there. Would be fun to see an insurgent map with two jets, that never respawn, ever.

Wasn't me.
