Limited Pilot Kit

Post by Outlawz7 »

Well, Ive seen and read about people taking Pilot kits and camping on airport in Basrah...plus, it seemed weird to me, that they arent limited...

So I suggest limiting the Pilot kits to the number of needed in air vehicles in a map.
Example:

Al Basrah:
2 A10s - 2 pilot kits

2 Cobras - 4 pilot kits

2 Blackhawks - 2 Pilot kits

Total adds together 8 Pilot kits.

So Al Basrah should only have 8 Pilot kits, since only 8 pilots are need to operate all air vehicles.

This would minimize the plane camper picnics on runways, but would increase TKs for that kit, since then we would had "first come, first served" issue.

Happens with other kits, like Sniper, and actually happened to me, when I got Tked for my Marksman kit by a stupid pilot, who wasnt actually flying.

Another idea:
-if you get TKed, your kit dissappears or cannot be picked up by your team.

Or even better: Instant death if you pick up the kit of a team member you've killed. So be it if ppl cant revive the medic they just killed by using his kit, but hey, a grenadier isn't a trained doctor either. More realism and less gay TK-ness. Win-win.

AFAIK it already had this system.
But I like limited pilot kit idea.
Sorry for my English

Limiting the kits runs the risk of some n00b getting it and camping out somewhere. Limit it to at least 10 kits then there's the option to cover this.

Don't you dare limit the pilot kits! And we never camp the airport in our little special-circumstances squad.

Just wait until you see the latest Dr. Rank promo vid :)

Copilots should have a kit too, in case you need to take over if the pilot dies.
For authenticity players the guys gunning in the blackhawks should have non-infantry kits too i think.

Outlawz... if you haven't yet realised the beauty of unlimited pilot kits, look up some of the ex RFAD tournament guy on the PROS servers and we will explain. Tell them i sent you.

Ill go pay a visit to those guys..but which PROs server...seen more than one, I think?

Any of the PROS settings servers you will find them (Project Reality Original Settings).
Go find BL1ND Dr_Rank Squidy Popa Wormeaten, someone like that..
we tend to play on 64 player only servers

PM me and i'll remember to ping you when i am next online in PR (tonight GMT)

My reaction to seeing a noob flying off in an aircraft.. well i just laugh, as i can only fly a bit in PR helicopters.
Just call out "There is a blackhawk down.. i repeat there is a blackhawk down" on the global chat channel like i do when playing insurgents :) and call out the pilots name that just crashed. They will usually be so embaressed they wont bother again.

Of course, telling them how to create a server on their LAN and enable 1 player required to start game would help having people practice on love servers.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

This is a great idea. Pilot kit should be limited to the number of aircraft positions there are. This may well solve the problem of having half of your team sit at the airfield so they can jump in a chopper and crash on takeoff. IDK if its possible but maybe even make it so that if you have pilot kit you must get into an aircraft w/in say... 2 min or you die.

I had already suggested that it would be neat if pilotkits would be limited that with that a timelimit starts when a vehicle has spawned. but i dunno bout solving all problems with just killin you after this timelimit has run out like the APC turretdeath.
why not just make the kit drop back to the ground and block the idler from pickin it back up.
furthermore... you crash the vehicle cause of your own fault -> you get something like a 15min penalty before gettin another pilotkit
and: you have your pilotkit and get TK -> you instantly can request a new 1
