APC driving in Al Basrah.... anybody else get lag?

Post by Wasteland »

I remember dbzao saying he was getting some intense FPS lag in Al Basrah while driving the APC.

I've recently been getting the same thing. It seems to happen most often when I'm leaving airport, near those concrete road barriers. It also happens on the edges of the city sometimes, like near the construction site with the ammo dump in the basement on the north side of the city just west of Industry.

I'll get a sudden drop in framerate to where the APC is almost un-usable for a minutes or two, then it will go away. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm gunning or on foot. And it seems that I can stop it if I hop out and then hop back in. I've only tried that once though, so more testing is in order.

Is this happening to anybody else?

Had the same once. It was made doubly worse by the two jihad bikes that got us both times, I couldn't move because of the lag.....

I think that was on the Ziip server, but I was very drunk at the time.

I had it happen the other night. Its not only when your driving but its also when your standing next to it or anywhere relavtivly close to it.

Do you get lag when in a plane or chopper?

Ive only had it once and it went away after a minute or so and never happened aagian, and I know someone else that this also happened too. It just randomly happens.

(and my problem was only the APC)

Im very sure that spyware and defrag have nothing to do with it.

No. It's just the APC.

as soon as i get out, the fps lag stops.

Uff, Im suspecting that, since Im getting more and more connection lost issues in PR...my antivirus is screwed up, and theres possibly a chance, I got a virus :(

Not sure about spyware, only tracked my website visits, and I got a junk mail, called "free Windows Vista", after I was discussing Vista&games on some other site.

I mostly get lag, when Im in a Cobra/Blackhawk. I never lag as an insurgent (at least its not so obvious), whats really weird, lol

I dont have much lag on other maps, and can play them fine. But I usually lose connection, when the server gets full... then I come back and cant rejoin, since its 54/54 or 64/64.. :(

Same here, only when I'm driving, as soon as I switch to the gunner seat, everything is fine.

It's a conspiracy created by the DEVs to control the TeamSwitching. Case the players think USCM > INs. They're both fun.

It's a very occasional thing. But it happened twice recently.

I don't normally get lag on Al Basrah.

Hmmm... Funny you should mention this, happens to me also, at those concrete barriers. Always find myself hitting the damn things if I try to slalom them. Weird.
