bring the noise!

Post by Wolfmaster »

vehicle sounds. that's what i'm talking about. you should be able to hear vehicles from farther away. right now you can't even hear then around the corner, which is not realistic at all. it's also no fun to get owned by a tank waiting for you to round the corner is it?

that's all folks.

I agree, and it should be doable based on how far out you can hear the choppers/planes

Definetely agreed.

All vehicles cept buggies and jeeps need to be like 10 times louder. not even an exaggeration. Helis should be loud enough to make it practically impossible to hear anything aside of gunshots when a heli is within like 100 feet of you.

Tanks need to be heard from like 1/4 a mile away, with that dull roar.

Jets need to be loud enough not to deafen you, but enough to make it so you can't hear anything if they fly anywhere near you. (well, that'd only work on better designed maps I suppose, as you'd be deafened 24/7 in bf2 maps...)

The way it is now, you can see a helicopter hovering 1000 feet away and not even hear it at all. That is really innacurate....

(lol, this is my 666th post)

I agree aswell.... I have a really good sound system for FPS... Then only game so far that really used it well was Counter Strike. I would love my sub to shake my monitor as a tank drives by or a helicopter is above me. Sound makes a game 100x better.

I totally agree. I believe sound is even more important then graphics in a game. It pissed me off when I first got BF2 and noticed all the whimpy unrealistic sounds.

Yep Yep and Yep!

Need to do something with the sounds! If you make it louder it feels more realistic as you can imagine there really is a tank around the corner! :8

yes much louder for tanks and heli's....i think gun shots should be much louder too because now the sniper rifle is the only loud gun....and ive noticed and died because of this....your ina tank just sitting then you hear russsling and scraching whats the first thing you guys think back up kill the ops guy sneakin up on you right right....you shouldnt be able to hear anything while driven a tank... there im done maybe more when i think of more...

For realism and sounds.... Don't mistake Hollywood soundeffects for realism.
A lot of stuff does not sound the way they do on the big screen. Weapons sounds for example almost always sounds like howitzers in the movies....

True enough but I don't want this to turn out to be a John Woo action, dual deagles akimbo stunt fly on the rocks with uber soundeffects because reallife sounds are too "dinky". Which could really easily happen when the community begin to demand "beefier" sounds and what not.

Just to try to keep it as real as possible.

Having said that, I do agree that something has to be done about the sounds in this game. The question is, can PR do anything about the sound or is it too hardcoded into the engine to really change it properly?

the sound on most things is not right or is not as loud as it should be but planes cant be heared most of the time untill they past you and then it to late becuse they are going faster then the speed of soud. hellies are hard to hear to comeing. one time on my boat i think they were doing training with a blackhawlk any way i did not hear it untill it was 100 feet and it was not that loud untill were almost over head they were flying low and fast. i saw a video of a plane goin super sonic by a aircraft carier and you only heard it like 2 seconds after it past.

tanks i dont know to much about but the abrmbs has a gass turbine engin so it has a sound i belice similar to a jet or hellie engin but not as loud in side a foot of dpu. i dont know how loud they are but there not super loud like WWII there made to be quiter still louder then a car hummer are not loud comming at you, u might only hear it for 2 seconds befor it runs you down.
