I was stuck for quite a while becuase the letters wouldn't load, and when I clicked on the 'box with the X' it took me back to the SUSPENDED page.

This has been in the making for a bit of time. The "set up" for the sting is in EvilHomers *EMERGENCY* thread.

I thought he really had some problems. Not necessarily with the government but more likely with hackers, viruses, phonecompany or ISP or any combination thereof.
Now we know it was "just" a part of the process of making the April 1 joke more believable. It worked.

I think more or less all of us got a sinking feeling when that "SUSPENDED" thing popped up instead of the familiar forums or mainpage. Some took it hook line and sinker and others blinked once, clicked the link and realized it is The Joke.

Edit:
Just thought of this, that they actually went so far as to ban part of the team either shows true dedication to detail or utter insanity and obsessive behaviour. I haven't made up my mind which yet.
