Emphasis on Pilot Kit
1. Limit pilot kit to 1.5x the amount of Pilot positions
2. Make each pilot death count as 15 tickets
Would make CSAR worthwhile as well as limit smacktards sitting for planes.

Most smacktards value the score at the end of the round more than anything else. How about each time you lose a plane you lose 100 points?
Everytime you destroy a plane that you are not piloting from your team you lose 200 points?
And, while I'm on the subject, maybe pilot kits should be issued to the player by the commander?
Or if there is no commander then as regular, but only to people who have killed at least a certain number of enemies within a certain timeframe? That would not affect anyone at the beginning of the round, but if a player crashes a plane without getting any kills, then they should not be allowed to get back into one for a while.

I like the idea of certain kits costing the team more than one ticket.
The ticket loss is realitive to the amount of tickets each side has. Dunno a good number for the pilot.
____
I have only seen one pilot eject from his ride. It was on Al Bas, I was Commanding an APC and was the assault rally point at Facility, and this pilot floats down thirty feet away, runs to the back of the APC and grabs a rifle.
I was thining: Holy Cow, we need more guys like this.
P.S. Be cool if the pilot could carry some binocs.
Be nice if pilots cost more tickets when they die, they take a lot of tax dollars to train.
I am very impressed with the single squad chopper squads we have now. Ejecting from a air ride that is fixing to blow up should be SOP, and so should picking up a down pilot in order to save those tickets, they have around five to ten mins until their ride respawns, so pilots go on your own Escape and evade mission.

Your ideas seem pretty good, but I'm not sure about the commander thing. I think that if you crash a plane without making a single kill, you lose 100 points, if you get 1 kill and crash you lose 50 points, 2 kills = -25 points, 3 kills you don't lose points. Also if you crash, you can't request the pilot kit for a certain amount of time depending on how many points you gained in that plane. Say you got no kills, and lost 100 points when you crashed, you can't request the pilot kit for 10 minutes, -50 points and 5 minutes, etc.'[-=IDSF=- wrote:SykloAG']Most smacktards value the score at the end of the round more than anything else. NOTE: You will not be penalized for being shot down by enemy forces, only if you crash on your own.

I would really like to see downed pilots or even entire squads calling for evac more often, sometimes i'll orbit the city in Al Basrah for about 8 min with my two minigunners without getting a single transport request, it'd be nice if pilots had a voice macro that said "Black hawk on station - requesting orders" as i get tired of typing that.

Killing a pilot should not count for so much. Imagine a map like Muttrah, where theres tons of shitty pilots, and a very well defended coastline with lots of anti air.
bad, bad, bad idea.
There should be no ticket loss for pilots.
If you ask me, make it so you can only get 1 pilot kit per 10 minutes.

Your only talking about Muttrah, which as far as i know will either be not played eventually or reworked.Guerra wrote:Killing a pilot should not count for so much. Imagine a map like Muttrah, where theres tons of shitty pilots, and a very well defended coastline with lots of anti air.

This is a great idea, and someone posted something similar in another thread. How about only having a specific number of deaths per player. That way ejection and bailing out of a copter become much more feasible and you know that they would be a little more carefull with the choppers.

I'd say loss of:'[R-PUB wrote:Viper5']1. Limit pilot kit to 1.5x the amount of Pilot positions
2. Make each pilot death count as 15 tickets
Would make CSAR worthwhile as well as limit smacktards sitting for planes.
2 APC
5 MBT
6 Transport chopper
10 attack chopper
15 fixed wing
.....and then an extra 35second(next spawn only) spawn time for dying as a crewman.
And 1minute(next spawn only) extra spawn for dying as a pilot
That way, there is a consalation for surviving when getting neautrilised/destroyed. It will also mean that Pilots/crewmen that get shot down and parachute on maps like Albasrah are less tempted to press suicide or jump off a building, just to respawn to get the Pilot kit again and wait for viechle.

Even if you got a pickup request from a whole squad you wouldnt be able to pick them all up anyway, because you've already got two gunners in your BH.DarkTalon wrote:I would really like to see downed pilots or even entire squads calling for evac more often, sometimes i'll orbit the city in Al Basrah for about 8 min with my two minigunners without getting a single transport request, it'd be nice if pilots had a voice macro that said "Black hawk on station - requesting orders" as i get tired of typing that.

not all squads have 6 players, and unfortunately squads don't always stick together, often their are 1 or two people sniping/spec ops while the rest work as a team.xgayox wrote:Even if you got a pickup request from a whole squad you wouldnt be able to pick them all up anyway, because you've already got two gunners in your BH.

Taking away tickets only hurts the team, not a player that constantly jumps in a heli just to crash EVERY TIME. Rather than taking away tickets, which most players clumsy enough to crash as often as that won't care about, I believe penalties should be inflicted on the person flying.
I agree that perhaps an elongated timer and/ or a longer wait for the pilot's kit would be nice. Perhaps if you crash (or suicide) too many times with the Pilot kit, you can't use it until the next map?
