some cool ideas
It would be cool if you can drop different bombs with side effects like napalm, and cluster. Also, it would be cool for player controled artilery. to not make it over powering, there would be a new class were you need to call in coordinates to strike the targets and destroy some buildings buildings.

1. A form of player-controlled Artillery is planned for the future (Mortars)
2. Napalm is banned against humans according to a few treatys tho im not sure who has signed what. Eddie Baker prolly does tho
3. Cluster Bombs would make a great addition tho the DEVs can prolly comment on the feasibility of it using the BF2 Engine.

A LONG time ago, there was a preview of a tweaked arty system used by some Sci Fi mod. Galactica or something... Anyways. What they did was replaced arty with an air strike, and IIRC, they had used cluster bombs. So yes, it might be possible, but I am not a coder, and what the DEVs decide to do is their decision.

if you remember back on old school DC Desertshield, the A-10 had cluster bombs that actually exploded half way between plane and ground, and then dispersed over the area and rittled it with shrapnel. Imagine that on Albasra. hmmmm
however lo and behold, we'll probably run into some stupid coding/engine problem again.

Welcome aboard, Max. These suggestions have have been brought up before, but the search function doesn't always turn up everything because of thread titles. 
Cluster bombs I'm not sure of, as I am not a coder, but I do know that the bomblets dispersed could not be individual explosive projectiles, just a visual effect.
As for incendiary bombs, including napalm, they are still used. The Mk77 incendiary bomb is still in US inventory and I believe has been used in Afghanistan.
In game, however, cluster and incendiary munitions would not work very well because their effective radius is something like several hundred meters, and the maps are only so big.
