H-AT usage
i suggest that if possible the removment of H-AT wepons form maps with no armour ex. inishail forest, helmland province, hills of hamgyung and mao valley. By removing H-AT possibility from maps like this we would lower some of the Noob tub sniping that i have seen of late and by this we restrict and develop the options and tactics that players have to use in-game. We allso restrict the way new players aproche the game by doing this they will not be abel to use these "dirty" tactics that some of the "vets" use ingame with this version of PR.
sorry if my english spelling is bad, but at least i think i got my point through

But what do we do use to fish with? we even wasted a artilary strike, just to see what would happen to the fish.

Heavy Anti tank weapons are used extensivly in real life against things that arnt tanks. For example, during the Falklands war British troops used MILAN missiles to destroy Argentine bunkers, and in Afgahnistan they (or atleast have) use them against Taliban forces.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

O yes..Space cadet, I fear he has made this post because on Inshinal forests i Have a bad habit of Rushing the Power plant and Launching Heavy AT straight towards Forti.. On this night i took out 20 with about 2,3 Reloads And they all started Complain at me and And callin Me Gay and Noob and Shit player Cause i Fired My Heavy AT at them.....Space was one of them which Well was Destroyed,And indeed I got some abuse from him for this,
The Heavy AT is a Great Weapon of Mass Destruction, And i will use it well and will continue to use it To take out troops and Take there tickets away
Just seen u called it a "dirty" Tactics..Ok so Is C4 Cars on Al Basra Not Dirty Ethir or are the Insurgents just using what they have??...... think about it

Heavy-AT - it can be used like the old faithful bazooka against troop concentrations... it's not really a noob tube because noobs can't aim too well... nor set themselves up in advantageous positions... generally you need to keep a vehicle hwmmv/vodnik whatever close by for reloading quickly...
the other night I was taking out rally points with heavy AT from the side of a littlebird... and from a distance... I hate being anti-personnel'd with it but I accept it... and I give it back when I can... it is sweet for anti-air when you can judge/predict the motion of a blackhawk or whatever well
war doesn't have rules,
neither should heavy-AT use.
If you hate being blasted with one,
hunt them down and knife them & steal the kit...
sniping with rockets...
so what

I'm with most on this post, use what ever assets you can, to your advantage.
And it is not hard to counter someone using H-AT, esp on the smaller infantry maps you want it removed from. If you cant own someone with H-AT on Moa, as an example, then its back to the drawing board.
And its sooo much fun to use esp when its unexpected. Putting one into a bunker on any map is a real 'blast'.

i totaly agree that these kind of rocket propeld wepons are a part of modern warfare but i dont see it as realistic for someone to bring a Heavy antitank weapon to a all infantry fight... for bunker clearing and such on these sort of maps i suggets we use the soon to be limited Light AT. thus reducing the sniping capabilites with heavy AT.

As I play Heavy AT a lot, I think using rockets against infantry is really lame in 0.5 because it's based on gameplay "weakness" (fast and unlimited ammo resupply due to ammo pack bug and an other well known exploit of Heavy AT class). In the previous releases, we fought against support whores then M4 whores, now, it’s just H-AT whores...
Time to time, H-AT should be used to clear a bunker or to take down an enemy sniper but only in very few situations and AT rounds should be kept as far as possible to blow vehicles. Right now, a lot of players are using H-AT as a splash damage sniper against infantry while enemy's armour slaughtering the rest of the team. The first objective for an H-AT should be to blow hostile APCs then hostile armours, not to have a giant infantry frag fest. Some people argue that AT is used against infantry in reality; perhaps, but in reality, they won’t fire 10 Erix per minute with a squad mate who carries unlimited AT rounds on his back.
PS : my English sucks more than Spacecadett’s. Sorry about that.

Perhaps a solution is to make heavy assets worth more tickets?

Bobfish just answered your question : great majority of people who are wasting rounds on infantry are not playing for the team, just for the frags. They won't care about wasting few tickets to lame with their uber-powefull weapon. The only way to avoid these attitudes is to nerf H-AT in 0.6 just as support guns then M4 have been previoulsy tweaked. We just have to hope that it's possible to do and that won't take too much time to the devs to correct these gameplay "weakness".bobfish wrote:Had quite a few games on EJOD now where the HAT was all taken and no one, not even our own tanks, were taking out their armor... we got raped.

Ok, let's clarify, for those of you who can't do the maths:Freshmeat wrote:O yes..Space cadet, I fear he has made this post because on Inshinal forests i Have a bad habit of Rushing the Power plant and Launching Heavy AT straight towards Forti.. 20 Kills
3 Shots
20/4= 5 Kills with each shot.
He put our team to an advantage, by:Blondin wrote:just for the frags.
1. Slowing down the opposition, so we could cap the other flags.
2. Reducing their tickets.
3. Using a kit no-one else uses, so other noobs could get the sniper kit.
