v0.6 - Kits
What changes are you doing to the kits in v0.6?
I have heard that you are removing the AP class and putting the Claymores and the binoculars in the Engineer class. Thats ok, but what do you do with the weapon the AP class have? On some maps the AP class has a weapon with "scope", which the other classes does not have. So, if you are removing the kit/class, this weapon will be removed to? I hope not..

The rifelman anti-personel, wich you refer to in your post, has no scoped rifle in any of the, so far, integrated factions. The only refleman class wich has a scopeed rifle is the rifelman with no suffix, carrying the ammo bags. It has scoped rifles for PLA and GB members.
There are plans to equip the USMC and MEC riflemen with scopes, too, but that will be in a future release.
So, no need to worry about your scoped rifles

I have seen many a picture of both US and UK soldiers carrying all the below at one time:
1) Scoped assutl rifle
1) Grenade launcher
1) DIsposable AT rocket
- mutliple smoke grenades and 6 + 40mm shells for GL.
This clearly proves how much equipement RL soldiers can and do carry, therefroe the PR kit loads out are a compramise between realism and in-game balance.

the US team have been imbalanced since vBF2. They need to be taken down a peg or sixteen.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

I LoVE this difference!!!
My comments stated the facts, and use of "us are fcked" was me mearly to effasise the pwoer of the G3 in infantry combat.
Although does any one know how many of the new G3 models will make it into 0.6 IF any?
I really hope them all, cos i dislike having a different weapon to carry the GL launcher, standardisation all the way! (i know it is mearly a matter of time though before all are implamented)

From what I was taught was that 5.56 was chosen because it will bounce off bones, so if the entry wound is in the leg then the exit wound could be your arm or leg etc, rather than go in one side and come straight out the other like 7.62.
Another theroy is that its designed not to kill becuase casualties cost more money in treatment and pensions etc. Remeber this was when the Cold War was at its height.
5.56 is the standard NATO round.
I've said too much, whats that van outside.........ahhh HELp

-Lighter weight/carry more.Tralle wrote:There must be a reason why the usmc uses 5.56mm ammo and not 7,62...
can anyone tell me?
-Less recoil/easier to shoot/better control in full auto/girls in the military can't handle 7.62's recoil (ok, j/k, but really...).
-Most infantry engagements within 300 yds/no need for more powerful round.
-Unsubstanciated rumor from the 60s that refer to 5.56 being designed to injure instead of kill, thereby taking 3 enemies out of the fight (1 shot, 2 to carry him away). BTW, if anyone can provide actual PROOF, pro or con, regarding this rumor, please let me know.
-Most importantly, change of strategies emphasizing suppression fire (hence the need for more ammo).
BTW, USMC (and Army) use 7.62 in M240 MG, after they realized the 5.56 has poor penetration in building materials ...duh!(I'd love to see an M240 in-game!).
