Project Reality, Key Word Reality

Post by xseeyax »

THIS IS KIND OF LONG BUT DON'T BE LAZY, JUST READ IT

If anyone wants to know, my in-game name is StrkTm seeys, and I have been playing pr for about 3 months now and in that time I thought that I had seen the full of pr (reality wise) until today.

I was playing on Al Basrah with my friend StrkTm Murder City Devil and some other guys that were in the server and we had been killed but spawned at an APC at North VCP. We then proceeded to move the the slums part of basrah and we went on a building to get a rally point out, this one to be exact (click on big picture) http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/xseeya ... 808cd7.png
but anyways an a10 had just sprayed it twice with his guns because the commander said there was heavy contact there but we figured it was clear so we moved in

So we got the rally point out and all was quiet, we were about to move out of the house until we heard a snap and everyone hit the ground, I peeked up over the wall to see where it had come from, then another snap and I see it. Across the road there is some other houses and there was an insurgent shooting from the window so I took him out and thought that was the end of it. Well it wasn't my guys got up and we all looked at that direction and all of a sudden there was jut tracers and snaps coming from the houses over there so we put fire down on the houses.

I thought it was just going to be a kill for each of us, a quick firefight, but more and more insurgents were shooting at us, we were pinned on this roof, we took all kinds of fire but were not giving up we were shooting as many as we could then we started taking rpg's the first one missed but the second one hit the wall behind the medic making him criticly wounded so I grabbed his kit and revived him. I'm healing him when a third rpg comes in and hits my squad leader so I go get him and heal him then I start shooting over the little wall that we took cover on. We drained our clips to our last bullets but didn't even make a dent in the insurgency. We knew we had to get off this roof.

I'm looking for a way down and see them start to cross the road and flank us I shoot both of them down that crossed the road and then look back at the houses when I see another rpg coming towards me and hit the wall infront of me, so I'm down. My squad lead comes and revives me and we look over the wall and there is so many insurgents now rushing at us and just shooting from the hip and I look to the right and they're flanking us again. We held them off for a good time but one by one we were brought down until the house were crawling with insurgents and our rally point destroyed. I was wrong to think that I had seen the full reality of Project Reality. This mod amazes me more and more each day. Good job Devs, mission accomplished.

Yeah, I was mentally preparing a snappy comeback already :D

Not to rain on your parade, but this would've fit better in the tales from the frontlines section. Nice story though, I really do love Basrah.

Nice write up, i can only hope that the tournament will bring alot of those moments they seem to become further and further apart on regular servers

Yep, absolutely love them. And good storytelling as well.

And I, too, was preparing a snappy comeback when I read the title

Good playing with ya.

Honestly ive been getting kind of bored of basrah, and in somewhat of a slump ability wise. But then I load up jabal (still the best PR map ever, but will be having its title challenged with some of the new maps) and go heavy AT and pwn anything with an engine that comes in visual range.

Looks like I'm not the only one who thought this was going to be another complaint, lol.

Nice story.

I was waiting for a complaint too. Needless to say this is close to the opposite. I only wish I played enough PR to get into this kind of action.

Thats awesome man. I love intense firefights.

Edit: No, no we don't. I just couldn't see it on the menu before.
