You can turn it off whenever you want mate. Change the opacity in options
or if you want to go really hardcore :
bring down console and type
renderer.drawhud 0
to turn it all off, change variable to 1 to turn it back on.
Let's see how lonely you feel after you've got yourself into a squad that isn't using voip because they can afford the game and the pc to play it on, but not a £1-5 microphoneand you lose your way on the map!

[R-MOD]Mongolian Dude: AH man, sarcasm is so hard to get across the web, even if we are both british
[R-DEV]Jaymz: That has to be...the most epic response to a welcome thread I have ever seen. [R-CON]Mr.D ladies and gentlemen!

Yeap have had it off (well 95% transparent) for a while now...
The only annoying bits are
1) your 'M' map goes transparent too, so you need to use CAPSLOCK to look at the map, slight inconvienience
2) names of players inside vehicle disappear
3) names of CPs disappear
other than that, welcome to wonderful world of beautiful graphics without the hideous thing in the corner of your screen!

I would prefer to keep the mini map but only show your squad members on it, "spotted" enemies and just the squad leaders of your team, as the "grunts" should be working around thier SL. That way you can still know where the hell your going, but also depend more on the chain of command communication to know where / direction the rest of your team is attacking from. So when you hear a engine charging down a side road or gun fire from some buildings or whatever, your teams level of communication will determine how well your decision of the next course of action will be.

Same here. Also, you are unable to change the firing mode on your weapon. I think there were other problems too but I can't remember atm. It sure does look nice though.El_Vikingo wrote:I've played with the HUD off a couple of times!
Only problem is that you get no spawn map on, so you have to switch it back on.

My vote is YES NO
YES minimap for Pilots and Drivers (Meaning if in a humvee, those who have minimap will be seat 1 and 2 [driver and gunner], another example if those in a blackhawk only seat 1, 2, and 3 will have minimap [ pilot, 2 gunners] You get the point)
NO minimap for infantry or passengers (people in humvee seat 3,4, 5, so on...)
