What do u guys think

Post by Flynn1982 »

i was playing as the insurgents the other day and looking at there kit load out, and i thought maybe it might be cool if the marksmen "hunter" class could maybe
have a nonescoped bolt action rifle? I just love the gritty real to the insurgents
class and there weapons so guns like the k98 or the lee enfield would be realy cool , left over from ww2. Because theres alot of these rifels still easy found in the middles east/north africa region.
what u guys think? ;)

I think we had a hunter class for insurgents with an SVD. The thing is, it is a sniper kit, so like all sniper classes, it got taken off and made into a limited kit.

I saw it when I was working on my map a long time ago.

yeah, but he is speaking of a NON-scoped bolt-action rifle.. simply a class with very low deviation and high damage per shot, but still with ironsights

Yes you did have (was replaced with limited version) a SEMI AUTOMATIC SCOPED RIFLE that was unlimited but that is not what Flynn is suggesting, are you just short of time or what, cos that seems quite rude to have an apparent unrelated conversation, with out any re-marks to its possible relation!!!!!!!!!

He is suggesting a BOLT ACTION NON SCOPED RILFE that is unlimited. His reason being, that up until the 1970's/80's most Middle Easten insurgents main weapons would have been a bolt action rifle, one of the main examples being the Lee Enfield.

Wiki TIME:"Khyber Pass Copies: A number of British Service Rifles, predominantly the Martini-Henry and Martini-Enfield, but also the various Lee-Enfield rifles, have been produced by small manufacturers in the Khyber Pass region of the Indian/Pakistani/Afghani border."

Although probaly in small quantities, it shows the clear importance such weapons had, and still could have, even if it is in a different way now.

These types of rifles are almsot entiely bolt action and with a magazine capacity of 10 or less. However, most retain a high degree of accuracy, combined with all thse rifles have a full sized round (.303 if size), make them both very powerfull at long range in particular and IF well maintained, more accurate than the average AK.

Overall, obsolete weapons, However in the very mountenous regions and very open areas of the middle east, a well trained insurgent could use the large calibre, high accuracy weapon to his advantage.

Due to the AKs medium accuracy, medium/hgih powered round and full auto capacity, such a weapon as suggested (e.g enfield) woudl not unbalance kit/team layouts ext. and would provide the skill full player with the means to engage targets at long range, but requirement for skillfull and tactical emplyment would always be a prerequisite for the successfull use of this weapon.

In conclusion, i see no reason, although i am damn sure i missed some key areas, whic i hope will be noted to all us of shortly, why such a weapon could not be issued to the insurgent team.

EDIT: Forgotten Hope have a Lee Enfield ready and waiting .....................so can we, pretty much the only damn thing we can take anyway!

The thing needs to be modelled, which is a reason not to do it, unless we can get our hands on one from another mod...

I like the idea, though

My favourite gun for a good half a decade from the age of 9-14 was the Lee Enfield no.4, twas obessed with it. Therefore i would love to see the baby in PR.

Although i have 1 request, enable the player to pull the bolt back and get his fingers on the trigger a damn sight quicker than all the bolt action rifles in Forgotten Hope 2 AND PR and vBF2.

The only thing stopping htis baby firing like an old slow semi auto tis the kick (take time to steady aim). NO GAME HAS EVER PORTRAYED the lee enfield totaly realisticaly, and i would rather PR either did or did not bother atall.

"Sgt. Instructor Snoxall- who placed 38 rounds into a 12" target at 300 yards in one minute." - seee??????? And that is accurate firing, not just see how fast i can pull bolt back and shoot.

Would you pull the bolt back on a Lee Enfield at the speed they do in COD/MOHAA/1942 If you where faced with an enemy charging at you or about to come around the corner?????

It would be great. Would definitely make the insurgents a more versatile faction.

i love the idea. the blot action rifle has always been one of my favs in FPS games. The stunning accuracy and takedown power....the raw sounding, tear you open type of gun.

Eat this sht Western COALITIONS when me and my Muslim brothers get our hands on some proper rifles, namely the only good god damn thing that ever came out Britain!

Please note, the extreme ease and swiftness at which a new round can be chanbered and fired; compared with similar bolt actions and many numerous semi automatic "rifles", and they call them rifles!

Yeah thats what i thought. But its not a bad idea. I would like to see it field tested for a while.
