So what does everyone make of the hacks?

Do these things work? I wont mention any by name but are people using them in Project Reality? If so, I thought Punkbuster stopped those things?

i think you just got every server admins attention there. as for hacks i believe the PR community as a majority if not a whole, takes a zero tolorance to hacks of any kind. even the "red dot". i would think twice if i were you, if you were planning to "see if they work".

a recent update to Punkbuster has enabled detection of some of the more common hacks. It's still possible I would imagine, but eventually you will get caught and banned.

Why are you calling yourself "Corporal TheRealFritz" in-game?

And why do you have 6 digits of what looks like a service number from the 1960's under your name?

Curiosity : nothing sinister; no need to break out the tin foil hats.

The 241277 looks like the 1st 6 digits of a UK Forces service number: it just piqued my curiosity.

Do the first 6 digits of a UK Forces service number look in any way different to the 6 first digits of your bank account? Or your birthday without seperating dots? Just curious...

Because there's an admin named Fritz that sometimes goes by TheRealFritz. So either this is him in sock puppet form, or this guy's impersonating a lead dev in-game.

TBH hacks are being used but, as has been said, the hackers end up getting caught & banned.
See, the thing with most of these arseholes is they tend to get too greedy; instead of moderating their wankiness to something realistic they go for the uberscore and draw so much suspicion & attention to themselves that the word spreads to keep an eye on them. That's the advantage of having a relatively small community: most players "know" each other & it doesn't take long for the jungle drums to be heard and acted upon.
If you can't play the game without cheating, why bother? Does it make your masturbation oh-so-more satisfying when you gloat in front of your glowing monitor, handkerchief clutched in your sweaty hand, dreaming of the friends you could have and how you could boast to them about your l33t prowess?
If they existed.
But they don't.
Cos you're a tosser.

SAY NO TO HAX!

There endeth the rant.

p.s. It wasn't directed at you Spliffmonkey, in case you were wondering & getting furious ;)

Nah, just been smoking & probably reading too deep into a set of numbers startin with "24".
As I said; no tin foil hats required.

Now if the numbers had been 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 then I'd get the tin foil hat!
