I know that I've said it before, but I will say it again and again:
The best way to get rid of noobs is to teach them how not to be noobs!
Also, I saw last days, few experienced players that are trying to teach noobs by creating a squad named „beginners“, „noobs“ and so on.
I would like write down few things from my experience on that:
Creating a squad called „Firstimers“, „Noobs“, „Noob Tutor“, „Beginners“, or anything like that, will most probably get you nowhere. Trust me, I've tried it so many times, without any success. I came to conclusion that no one wants to be treated like or called noob, no matter on how good are your intentions. I've tried everything on that, to invite them in squad, writing down something like: „Beginners please enter to my squad, I want to teach you“, but without almost any success.
For now, I found one very good tactic for teaching them.
When you see a stupid squadleader on some wrong flag/place, without officer kit or RP for his squad, just enter to his squad and start talking to him, but nicely please, and let him know that he is doing pretty lousy job. Sooner or later SL will get killed and spawned in main base Spawn on him (suicide yourself if needed), and tell him that he must take officer kit to place RP because squad needs to have spawn point closer to battle. Than lead him to the place where he can pick up officer kit (I usually start to jump in front of him, with words „Yo leader, follow me please!“
, and let him know how to do that. After that, lead him to some safe place where he is able to put RP and, of course, tell him how to do that. Now, it would be a perfect time to commend your SL for doing wright things, believe me this is very important, don't ever forget to praise SL for every little good thing that he is doing! After all that, you just need to lead him trough battle for the rest of that round, and to be squad advisor, all the time.You will be, in most of those cases, olny person in squad which uses VOIP, mostly because noob SL will only have non talking noobs in squad, but if you join to his squad next round you will most probably have at least one or two members which realised that VOIP use is necessary.
Few good tips more:
Patience – always be patient on noobs, they are most sensitive part of PR community
Persistence – some noob SL's (less than 5%) don't want to follow you at the beginning, but be persistent (I can remember one time when SL didn't want to hear my advice, I just told him: „SL if you won't place RP for us, I will start to sing to you, and I'm a very very bad singer“, I know that is hard to believe in that but that's actually worked – all squad started to laugh and SL started to listen to me .
Kindness – always be kind and nice, don't ever act immature or stupid, and don't ever write RTFM word to anyone, at the end of the round you can just nicely suggest reading the PR guide
Reward & Result:
After doing that easy job, you will see that you actually just created few awesome new teamplayers & teamworkers which will remember you for a long time, and anytime they saw you leading a squad they will just rush into your squad and they will blindly follow every order of yours.
