Spawn protection from FF

They did in Dcon and it works like that:You are invincible to friendly fire in your base.So a noob wont be able to hit you with a rocket and disconnect when you've finally managed to get in to your beloved vehicle after 10 minutes of waiting.

I don't see this happening. First of all intentional TK's should be delt with through other systems i.e. spawn times, admin kicks etc. FF could be many forms like being run over or a plane crashing or a chopper flipping. All of these would occur at the main base and should kill you ala real life. Poor decisions by your team should affect your team in my opinion.

Oh and I wouldn't admit to standing around for 10 minutes waiting on a vehicle, not a popular move :wink: :D

I don't think that's a good idea, you couldn't get rid of people blocking runways or vehicles anymore.

Let me explain:hanged with a squad during that time defended a flag then tried to kill baserapers(planes ,squads,snipers etc.) which are always present while keeping an eye on minimap for plane :) .

About your comments,at least it will prevent "instant" TKers and
there arent always admins around,even if there are he might not see that,even if you know there is an admin present and you report the tker he might hesitate to kick player when tker starts to claim that you are lying ,you tked him first,you stole his kit etc.

About longer spawn times after punishes that is a good one too and worked on bf1942 but this doenst contradict with spawn protection.
About ppl letting them overrun by vehicles well at least i am not tked yet he is dead,i prefer overrunning a tker than being tked.

It will be a lot harder for noobs to tk.In this case going back, driving jeep parking infront of you instead of launching a rocket or firing with aa and btw this roadblocks wont effect a chopper from flying or a tank from rolling :)

With blocking I also mean sitting in HWMMVs or choppers while beeing AFK or just to ruin the fun... saw that happening multiple times :S

Sorry Kruder I retract the standing around comment. I just assumed standing at a non active base for 10 minutes.

I didn't quiet understand your responce to me. Are Tk's not all instant you're alive, you're alive,... you're dead. The overunn a tker thing is a little criptic as well Please explain in more detail? :grin:

Your right about admins not being around etc. I don't have an answer for that one.

I'm with you on the concept of reducing intentional tk's but don't want to take a step backwards in realism.

OK,assume you are a noob -not saying you are :) -,i mean you are not an intentional TKER,who joined the server for purpose of TKing&team damaging.You see a vehicle you want to operate and run towards it ,sad for you, some1 grabbed it before you, and you want to punish this idiot for not letting you use that vehicle,in an instant you fire your rocket at him he dies ,vehicle destroyed.After some cursing you continue to play game normally.That was what i tried to tell with instant tks.
The overrun part was a response to bosco's post, you have to read his/her post too :) .

I hope i was able to clarify it a bit

And Bosco there is no code that avoids all type of teamkillers&teamdamagers,there wont be neither...This is only a simple and tested solution and works well to some extend.This spawn protection might be temporary,say 1 minute,to allow aircraft to take off,coz lots of TKs occur during that time.

as an admin I like to see who does te TK at the beginning of the round
especially for the vehicules

this allow me to get rid of them straight away and have a lot more fun the rest of the round ;)

I have to bump this thread with v.06.

Because this getting killed in choppers/airplanes without even taking off,by
friendlies has now more serious effects on outcome and fun.

1)spawn times of vehicles increased about %50(7 maybe 10 minutes)and in some cases %400(20 minute spawn).

2)People dont TK and stay on server nowadays,they tk , disconnect and reconnect 5 minutes later,since most admins dont give a **** if they are not subject to TKs so the same guy happily keeps tking if he cant get his toy.

3)In some maps choppers for example dont respawn again.(Al-Kufrah).

I know some of you will say that you cant prevent TKs and that they'll find another way but at least shooting down and airborne chopper'd be harder; for example you cant shoot pilot so easily with your main weapon or you cant place SLAMS/C4s on it,it is also a lot harder to shoot with rockets etc. etc.

even your TKer is a goodshot he still has to wait in the base for minutes for your RTB only to TK you,since those type of TKers TK you because of immaturity or inpatience i doubt they'll be waiting you somewhere without doing anything....

server admins need to ban players who TK helicopters on spawning IMO...

I haven't seen this yet in .6 but I pretty much only play on TG and I dont fly jets.
