Cheater punishment

Post by VipersGhost »

I saw a post about some Darkpnk guy and was really impressed at the lengths at which Hasslen (I think) went to expose the guy. This is EXACTLY what needs to be happening. This is one of the few ways we can keep games legit...its because the community isn't filled with 14yr kids from CS thats makes it great. (You 14yr here no offense, but some of you are straight idiots with shrill voices). I think we should all make an effort to keep the game clean once in a while. Its not like it happens very often anyways and if a veteran player makes a claim...it should be taken seriously. Aftering playing PR for yrs I think that its realitively easy to see when some random guy comes in and is blatantly cheating. It was obvious by that idiots comments that he was cheating anyways...anyone with any wisdom could understand that. So to you who keep the game nice and clean for me and my friends...thanks and well done.

Oh, I already wanted to suggest, how to "punish" cheaters....

"Sarge: You got your orders, go go go!
Death squad; Sir, yes sir!

Then UAV predator camera and the house of the cheater..

Sarge: Do we have a lock?
Death squad engy: Yes, sir
Sarge: Fire at will!

Cheater in the meantime: (hacks PR with unlimited Heavy AT)
Yea, boom tank! Muahaha (house blows up)
(A smoke cloud, then shows the house blown apart)
Cheater:...
Cheaters Mom: Timmy, stop making noise!"

thanks guys. the best proof i got was his alias on the PB ban list and i think that is enough to justify me starting that thread.

anyway, you (the community) need to be more aware of the servers you play on and how the game feels like, in order to interrupt cheater activity on PR.

im not a big fan of threads naming players unless the proof is listed from the start. for the obivious reason you go naming players without proof you could damage your reputation and his if hes not guilty. i my self learned of this the hardway.

the best way to go looking for suspected hackers is to contact the server admin, and get hold of pb screenshots, then start raising some red flags otherwise all these accusations of hacking can easily turn into a witch hunt and blaming innocent members or blaming a wrong person entirely.

Previous thread was locked, he's a cheater, let him burn. He is innocent, apology required.

I'm always wary of crying haxs, because in PR it can often be outrageous good luck. Like when I fire GL's towards and enemy flag from miles away at the end of the round and happen to hit someone.

i dont believe how naive some guys here are to actually believe he may not be a cheater, that's disappointing a lot

How the hell do you spot a cheater?? No tags means I never have a clue who I hot or who shot me... unless they are on same team, lol. Had plenty of incidents which made me question wether or not everything was above aboard but no way of ever proving it. Particulary hate it when I shoot someone in back and they spin round and waste me or when some guy does a commando roll onto the ground and heatshots me with a single round from 100yds away! But accept that these thing can just happen due to the dodgy BF2 engine and its hit detection/lag problems.

Well said, and for the 14Yr olds who took this out of context, he didnt mean all of you! OK!

I do agree that we must make an effort to stop hackers from ruining PR, BUT there must be sufficiant proof. Now Harrelson did the right thing. He had proof that with out a doubt this Dark guy was cheating. Well done Harrelson, its nice to see players making an proper effort to remove cheaters rather than just flaming them :D

For the rest of you guys who have doubt's read through the posts and you will find VipersGhost is right. It does not take a genius to work out this Darkwhatevers agenda by joining the forums to plead innocent. Also I myself said in response to his plea of "anyone could use that name" was wrong. Why? because you cant have 2 of the exact same name with a multiplayer account. (Try setting up an account using the name Oi_Malloi, really try it if you don't believe me). His response? none. With that the punkbust screenies of his name onthe ban list, and his EXACT name on the hackers websites, (totally my opinion here) coincedences like that are probably but really unlikly.

Again nice one Harrelson, and a big booooooo to the non believers ;)

well done!!! I hate cheaters, they ruin a good game, yes you can cheat as a two year old, when playing games with granny and grandad, they dont mind. But on a scale such as BF2, there is no place for cheating. If they are proven beyond reasonable doubt then, name them on the forums so appropriate action can be taken.
