Tanks and transport

Post by Expendable Grunt »

Would it be possible to implement something where people could ride on and sit on the sides of the tanks in the game? Would help kindle the "supporting infantry" idea.

I'm sure they could, I don't think I'd ride on the side of a tank too often though.

I don't think people do that anymore.

Been suggested before several times, I tried searching for it and couldn't find anything so I guess you're forgiven for not UTFSE.

If people do still ride on tanks, they would get off before they got any where near combat anyway, as I imagine that the tank's gun could do some damage, and the driver wouldn't want to worry about the infantry on the tank.

I'd vote no, just use the transports/APC. Even if it were realistic I'd still vote no as there are alot more pressing things I'd like the devs to be working on than a largely superfluos alternative transport method.

Well, I'd definatly dismount before entering combat. What made me think of this was Ejod -- there is alot of desert to cover, and many times one-two man HMMWV's leave us behind.

if anything there should be places for 1-2 "loaders" for the main gun in tanks. it would help with squadplay too :D
