Very cool. Ive gained a sort of appreciation for all things I see modeled now. Sometimes I just stare at things and wonder how they did it. :-P

You do really gain an appreciation after modeling something as hard as an orange :)

Just kidding.

I used ZBrush 2.0 for sculpting.
Mudbox and ZBrush are both very similar programs though

Here are some not so recent digital paintings. Colors are **** and most of them don't have much detail.

Looks nice, though the face could be scarier I think, and I wonder why he has a string-line?

lol

@dunehunter, Its the clay shader I'm using :p
It doesn't have any textures yet. I want him to look quite 'noble' and kind of arrogant rather than scary or evil. Can't go for too extreme expression though. He must be in a neutral pose before rigging.

Lol Maybe if I actually ever learn to paint well.

Had some time for zbrushing today.

Evil grin sculpt. Took about 1.5 hours to sculpt. Started form a geosphere.

Thats how our mods look when they are using the ban hammer ;)

Why is everyone's first zbrush character always a demon? Mine was too :D Been using ZB2 a lot lately & my new discoveries are the deco brush & pinch transform mode, perfect for making clean cloth folds in minutes. Workflow goes:

projection mode (g) > deco brush & soft alpha, texture off > paint folds (both + & - sculpting, mainly subtractive) > pickup & shift-smooth bits of it > pinch transform mode to tighten up selective areas (takes some experimenting)

It's also a good technique for veins & wrinkles because it avoids the blobbiness of painting in 3d mode. Try it out, real time saver.

Lol yea first zb sculpt is almost always a demon or an old man. I think my first one was a really blobby lizard or something but the next one was an old man :p

That sounds like a good workflow.
For some reason I rarely use projection master for anything even though it could often be a real time saver. I guess its just that I don't know how to use it properly :p
I just mask in sculpt mode instead which can be quite a pain for complex stuff.

In ZB3 they added some really great brushes. I absolutely love the new clay brush.
I also found out yesterday a tool called 'lazy mouse'. I'm not sure if it already was in ZB2 but it basically helps avoiding that blobby look you mentioned. Its also cool for stitchings and other small but even details.

All ZB does is make me frustrated. Why can't it be more like mudbox.
