Editor Lag

Post by Desertfox »

I can handle a bit of lag while in the editor, but im trying to edit terrain and I will click and 50% of the time it wont even register that I clicked. The other 50% 5-10 seconds after I clicked, it will edit the terrain. Its near impossible to do anything when its like that.

While im in the 'complaining about editor' lag when I use the box to select objects in the level editor I will click and hold > then drag. But its not registering that I clicked in the spot that I did so its like all messed up :/

Try adding +skipMips 2 to the editor shortcut command. It'll reduce the texture quality, hopefully improving the performance considerably.

use grid mode instead of detail mode :p

also if you go to help, you can find lots of commands, 1 like egor posted that will make the editor run with lower GFx settings. also try to turn down your editor view distance.

additionally if you are using the razor wire in your map it slows things down..it used to do it alot but it still seems to have some kind of minor impact on the editor...

patience is a virtue never double click cause it didnt get it... wait adn try again... (itll crash the editor trust me)

make sure the undergrowth distance is way low...like 30-40 if you are displaying it...if you dont need to see it TURN IT OFF..its the number 1 lag monster ..

cheers...keep at it soldier
