I'm a little disapointed with them in the game. IRL a SLAM can be used as a mine with a magnetic trigger to blow up as a vehcile rolls over it, be triggered by passive infra red (detects engine heat), or by remote detonation in addition to time delay.

As it can only go through 40mm of armor, it is not enough to kill a tank from the sides (perhaps from below), but more than enough to take out an APC with a single shot.

Actually, while considered shaped charges, EFP's use a solid projectile which gives them considerable range at the cost of less armor penetration. Traditional HEAT rounds use molten metal to penetrate much more armor, but they have to go off very close to the target.

What bothers me is shouldn't a single SLAM be enough disable any ground asset?
