Oh Project Reality, how I love thee

Oh, Project Reality, how I love thee

Let us count the ways.

I love the way you encourage teamwork, by making it so easy to get killed if you don't move as part of a unit. I love the way everybody who has VOIP found their way to PR

I love the pace of the game. My biggest gripe with Vanilla was that it just moved too fast. But in PR EVERYBODY uses the iron sights. You can't NOT use them. Its so rewarding to see everyone taking the time to hit their targets. Since everybody takes more time to aim, the game naturally moves slower, which allows for actual planning of strategies, and not just "run over there, now run over here." Now you can hold your ground and know that it helps.

I love how there are actual fronts and battle lines. No more wack a mole gameplay. Now you know which ares of the maps are safe (most of the time) and where you know you'll encounter the enemy. Since the battle only takes place along one general area, your team is all together on one side, and on the other is the enemy.

I love how with the advent of rally points now people defend an area, instead of a flag. The flag simply becomes a measurement of how far the enemy has control of the environment. Everybody spawns away from the flag and keeps people from moving forward towards it. Since you don't spawn at the flag, you have to go to the flag to defend it. But you can only move up so much before you encounter resistance. If the enemy has already gotten to the flag then the battle line will be before you even get to the flag. In this sense, your fighting for territory. This way spawn camping has also been eliminated (unless they find your rally point, in which case the spawn camping doesn't last long - they will destroy the rally point eventually)

I love how I will FINALLY have a BF game where the draw distance is realistic once .6 comes out. I have always felt that I would much rather have lower poly counts and less fancy lighting in favor of a further away horizon. Now my dream is coming true!

I love all the weapons, the vehicles, etc, etc.

Can't wait 'till .6 comes out. Despite all the complaining Egg has done about .5, I think .5 was a work of genius. GENIUS I SAY!

Fully agree with ya npsxbox, this mod is going in a very good direction, just when you think it can't possibly get any better it does!

Maybe I better get a room too

I remember when I moved from Desert Combat Final to Battlefeild2 and I tried out the helicopter.

I WAS SO DISAPOINTED THEY MADE THE HELECOPTERS FOR NOOBS.

I cant explain just how disapointed I was that they removed the skill eliment to the flying copters in BF2.

When I tried out Pr .5 I knew I had found my new game for the year.

My only worry is .6 or .7 will implement some thing really awful.

Incase any one from PR dev are reading this.

PR is ment to be life like please dont DUMB IT DOWN OR MAKE IT EASY, Real war is not easy, you have the respect of the people who know what the f there doing in combat sims keep it going along the lines it is now, please consut the comminity before you make any major changes where your not sure of. If your not sure ask us and we will more than likey give you a soild answer.

Pr is really great, with voip and a good team nothing even comes close, Id like to see more exotic weapons and vehicles, Im not saying a Nissan figaro here but add to the battle interesting real life stuff.

By the way a Harrier jump jet is so out of date and boring. Just incase any one thought otherwise. the A-10 is such a great addition to the feild more thought stuff like that for both team sides.

I might be completly wrong in every thing Ive said but Ive said it as I see it, dont flame me Im allowed to voice my opion.
First played PR-24th March 2007, Im from BF1942Orginal, DC, DC Final. Play as Helocopter Pilot.

...Out of date? The current second generation harrier has only been around since the 1990s. If thats "out of date" to you, then so are 90% of the other vehicles used by the worlds various armed forces. I mean god, the Black hawk went into service in 1979, and it probably wont see a replacement with a more "in date" model for another 20 - 30 years.

to me, the most incredible thing about PR is that they (the devs) did all these things with the BF engine !
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro."
(yes, it was about me)
[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

the B-52 officially entered service in 1955 and is intended to stay in service until 2040 (sorry, kinda off topic)
Vernon Sanders Law: Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.
WNxKenwayy: America lost Vietnam because of politics and a general pussification of the nation at the time.
