Surrender Vote

Post by lbgspam »

Ok, we've all been there. On the team that just is nothing but newbs and crappy players -- the team is getting its *** kicked!

Why not add a bit of reality with a "negotiate a surrender treaty" vote as a option by the commander? I.e. We give up, lets just move on to the next map and re-start.

Thoughts?

I don't really think that is necessary, I mean, it won't kill you to get your e-butt kicked every once an awhile.

This is a little different. I am saying you know you're butts gonna be kicked. Just let you end the map early. :)

Er, doesn't BF2 have a built in mapvote feature?

bah what a disgrace will make a fool out of your country if you back down, dont worry the respawn time is 30 seconds...not 18 years.

Having the surrender option is kind of like inviting smacktards to ruin the game.... All one has to do is go commander and hit a button and a ton of people are going to be mad.

No, the idea is that the commander initiates a TEAM VOTE to surrender. Not have ability to instantly initiate a surrender.

Or some other form of control.

Votes never work in BF2, so that wouldn't be an option.

True.

However, it might work in this case since the vote is on the losing side only and not the kicking butt side? :)

I must say that I don't think that voting for surrender when you are loosing is the kind of behaviour I would condone. After all, every game has to have a looser in order for there to be a winner.

Where such a vote would be useful is in cases where the round has become boring because the other team (e.g. the U.S. on Al Basrah) just refuses to attack. Waiting an hour and a half for the ticket count to run down whilst all the enemy guys are stood on the runway at the airport isn't an experience worth prolonging.

just remember, you might be on a crappy side, but unless your a team switcher, your still gonna be on a crappy side the next round.

Although I understand what you mean, even if that was added, nothing would be solved. When the next map is loaded, you will still have the same bunch of noobs in your team. What would you do...surrender again and again and again?

You guys can try and teach them the ways of PR...if they still insist in playing the vBF2 way...admins can take over if they want lol.

There is already an "surrender" option in R.

Everybody just goes sniper, support or "tanking" and hide far behind the hotzone. Doing nothing.

Make the tickets bleed even more, if 1/2 the team is at the base for "too long"?

Well, if youre there cos you just respawned or waiting for a kit, its fine...ticket bleed should be, when someone is constantly sitting around there...

If it is turned on the server yes. Most server's have it turned off.

I dont think that the surrender option would be good. people abusing it, numbnuts that always press page up as soon as they see something..

Its better to play the round out, and try to get a nice score for yourself in the end, when the rest of the team is fooling around.
