Yes the TKer was an issue. Honestly you guys surprised me. We had the server up maybe two days and I haven't got all the admin stuff setup yet for my computer. The head duck is handling all the server stuff. But expect it to be alot better run by tomorrow. I'm getting my stuff as we speak.

As for the stress test its a big thanks. We need a way to effectively test the 128 player thing but its rather hard to gather that many. If you don't mind that would be awesome!

Could you post the code you changed here? So far at least. Maybe our community can help work together to solve the problem

More players = more vehicles, more squads, bigger maps... What else would a PR player want more? Too bad you guys didn't break any big numbers

Like I said! I am just an advertiser / duck lover. (The server! Not actually ducks.) Although I'll run through some stuff I have saved and get it up here. I'm not the coding type. I just play the games and make other people do that.

Can't get more than 64 players, people trying to join get CTD.

Well we know for sure it has been done before. ANd it is possible in the demo.

I'm sure if BSS blacksand studios' devs all got together and accessed the situation we could solve this.

Why Would all those guys try this?

THis would be the biggest thing to happen to bf2 yet. You know how popular a mod would be that had 128 players or even 80? People would flock to it just at the pure audacity of it.

I had a problem with the server, when it reached 64 people and I tried to join it said I had a network error. But when it went down to 63 I could join.

Make it Al Basrah 24/7 on Conquest Mode and it will fill-up very quickly on the weekends.

That is the error we are trying to find. A line in there about the network is what is holding us back. If anyone in here knows C++ or is good at code hunting we can find that code and change it to allow a max of 257 in (Its an easy change we can do if we find the right line). Then we cut the cap off at 128 ingame and we are in business. In theory anyway. It should be setup everywhere else to play with 128 players.

POST EDIT:

Now my only worry is if we find this line and you do that swap over where we can't modify the game is if it is going to conflict. In the unlikely chance we get this to work is it possible that you guys could include the changes into your next change / changes. So that we can have 128 player servers?

I'll save you all the trouble right now...

Not Possible

:)

Ever consider that the limit may be hardcoded into the client, and thats why the client crashes to desktop when trying to join the server?

We can't do anything if its client side, without asking people to run a modified client, which is a big no no.

Is it 100% definate that its hardcoded into the client?

(We call this question style ... clutching at straws)

He's talking about the executable, which I'm sure we are not allowed to touch.
