'[T wrote:BludShoT']That's why I don't think it should be in the mod. Saying "Oh my god" is taking the Lord's name in vain, which is against the 3rd commandment - so it's offensive to Christians. So, putting "allah akbar" in the mod is the same thing, it should offend Christians as well as Muslims.

Some people will say who cares if it offends people, and I guess if you have no morals then it would be hard to explain why it matters, but then you could at least understand reasons like these:

- Why stir up a bunch of shit for no good reason? The game is fine without allah akbar in it, so it's not worth starting so much shit over it

- Why alienate segments of the population from the game, it would hurt the popularity of the game

- What about tolerance of other religions? When you have no respect for someone's religion, then where is the tolerance?
Amen!

Agreed. Otherwise like you said, we should have U.S soliders screaming in agony "OH MY GOD! LORD HELP ME!" when they're critically wounded.

Im thinking along the "holy sh1t! Someonehelp me, im dying!" Like on at the end of the sands of time trailer. Also, i think being crited would leave you silent and just groaning.

Yes, there is the possibility of people being offended by that. However, whats in the game now i would consider 100x more offensive.
The fact that insurgents are already in the game, placed in regions such as Basrah are already hinting that the insurgents are referenced to the religious conflicts....Come one, a bloody shootout at the mousque flag? If thats not offensive, im obviously missing concept of religion itself. Also, has anyone forgotten whats going to be depicted in the game when the civilian class is added?...
It is a realism mod so a close representation with gameplay is what it is concered with.

So maybe there is a secret plot to keep people at facility and not let them get as far as the mosque.

EL_Vikingo I was born long, long before the 90's --> 1978 :-( Second I am talking about the much more recent incident that happened within the last 12 months. I have no knowledge of the prior event?

I think the fact that this topic has generated such a large amount of friction is reason enough to keep religion out of the game. I know the FH mod does not included swasticas in game. I can only assume to avoid any porblems even though they strive for historical accuracey. Yes reality is that soldiers in battle say things, I get that. Reality for us as a gaming community is that were accountable. If the Devs put something out there that creates issues it will negatively affect the development of PR.

I think its good that the topic is being discussed and viewed from different perspectives. It may seem absurd to discuss something so small as tuants but look in the North American Media as of late and a few wrong words can get allot of attention (Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Imus). PR doesn't need that kind of attention even in the name of reality.
