stats not working

Post by darwinsGate »

The stats link on the PR website sends me to gloryhoundz.com. When I enter my nick or player ID it says it can't find me. So I search the forums and I looked in the FAQ and I found nothing about what I need to do to see my stats on gloryhoundz.com. The FAQ vaguely mentions something called ABR but it is unclear whether that's just what servers use or whether I have to be running something on my end.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you play on ABR servers before?

I doubt you searched.

ABR takes quite a long time to update.

Wow - is this the quality of posters here? "I doubt you searched"?? come on. and "have you played ABR servers before"? What a foolish question. I wouldn't be asking if I had played ABR before.

EDIT - what I mean is that I am a novice and I would not know if I have ever played on an ABR server. I have never *knowingly* played on one, but I could have as I have started playing PR.

If you never played on an Alternative Battlefield Ranking ranked server, you cant expect your stats to show up.
Pretty simple eh?

What I meant is that I have never knowingly used ABR before but I have played on PR servers. I presumed that most if not all used this new stat feature. Do I need to install something to make ABR work? How would I know if the server I played on uses ABR?

No you don't.

They usually have ABR in their names.

No, you dont have to use the ABR client to make it work
It will just make your rank stick (otherwise you'll get promoted every time you play, the points are saved without it too though.)
Common ranked servers are .:iGi:. and Thors Brigade... in general you can say when players have ranks on a server then it's ranked.

Thank you. That is helpful.

So in order to rank-up I need to go download and install some ABR client.
But there is no way to tell if a server is running ABR(looking for strings in the name is unreliable)?
and ABR is used by the gloryhoundz.com stat web site.

Was there any where I should have gone for this information because I could not find it when I looked.

Your points will be saved without the client too, but your rank will not stick.
You will get promoted every round after you log in.
To prevent that, download the client
http://bf2-archiv.planet-multiplayer.de ... ile&id=179
(click "Download" on the right)

So I think I played on Thor's ABR server. Yet the stats site cannot find my nick or player ID. Perhaps there is a time or point threshhold before it will start keeping stats for you?

Mhh, it's possible that the server is just stressed at the moment, you should try again in a few hours.

i never understand what people are saying when they talk about needing to download an ABR client. (which i assume is software?). I never have.. I dont rank up each time. I added a single line of text to a text file in my BF folder, as suggested on these forums. I'll have to try and find it. But it was ages ago. Can anyone set me straight?

@MadTommy: Here it is -> https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showth ... light=rank
'[R-PUB wrote:PrePOD']open file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
in text editor and add
212.77.171.100 bf2web.gamespy.com
The ABR client has the advantage that you can join servers with one click through it, kinda like Xfire (you have to enter your acc name and pass too)

If I understand correctly - if I want ABR to track my stats I have to either remap the stat server name to the ABR server IP (and back again to play vanilla) or spawn BF2-PR using the ABR client.

Your points get saved without any change.
__

But if you want your rank to stick, use the ABR client or change the host.
You dont have to use it everytime, just run it once and your rank will stick.
BUT when you run PR trough it, youre also able to see your ABR stats in the BFHQ ingame.
