Score

Post by Portable.Cougar »

Any way to get rid of the scores when you press tab?

When someone say lobes a nade into the room full of bad guys it would force them to check to see if it worked. Rather than just press tab and walk away. Could bring a bit more suspence to the game.

Also I would like the end round scores to be "your" scores only. Something close to 2142. How good you did with each weapon that round with out actually showing everyones score.

The only possible issue I can forsee is mass Tk's could be common place due to the fact that you wont have the ability to check for negitive scores.

This is just an Idea for now let me get some thoughts on it so it can become a real suggestion.

I completely agree...(even I have to check my scoreboard to double check each time) and I believe this takes a HUGE chunk of realism out of the game. I mean, troops in Iraq don't fire upon an OPFOR then check their watch and expect to see  Confirmed Kill  . If there was some way to "cover up" the kill and death scores that would be great! Just have the scoreboard with total score and teamwork score.

Similar thing has been suggested before. And with lots of support.
Can't remember the outcome though - got a suspicion it's not possible

Love the idea, and will support it every time I see it. I have to say though, that the only time I really find myself checking is after those long range prone fights... to the point where I try to remind myself to check more often. Honestly, most of the time you know you killed him, or you're dead..

Yep, been suggested before.

Try searching next time...it really helps.

The outcome:

+No kill checks.
+Score wouldn't be as important.
-No checking for stat padders or cheaters.

But if it shows total score you can still confirm the kill from it.
Well, only possible way is probably to remove the score list thingy binds and somehow make it unbindable. Hell, actually I have no idea how BF works :D just shooting blind.

Is it really not feasible at all then? no way of just making the font the same colour as the scoreboard for kills and deaths or something like that?

I suggested a killpoint-delay in this thread recently

What about limiting the Score Board check ablity to people who aren't alive?
Players would still be able to point out massive team killers, but not able to fire "big explosive weapon X" then check and see if their 0 changed to a 1 or more to see if they got any kills.

But, if you're that anal retentive about your score, then you aren't playing PR for the right reason. They removed the "You killed Mr. X" for a reason, and that reason wasn't so it takes you a key press to see if you got a kill or not.
