Anti-tank cannon.

Post by Raic »

Just wondering, now that well be getting long view distances are going to see any kind of AT cannons? Im not sure if any conventional army uses them, but it could be cool to have them for insurgents or militia instead of tanks.

Old ww2 cannons

Or a bit more modern cannons

a PAK40 ?
The TOW launchers are today's AT cannon aren't they ?
Maybe just more TOWs ?
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.

LOL at the helmets!

Well maybe some leftover AT cannons for the Insurgents/Militia?

Big recoilless rifles would make sense.

The only modern AT gun I can think of is the Sprut, which is basically the gun off of a T-64/72/80/90 tank put on a gun carrage which was/is used by the Soviets/Russians. So it could make sense for Malitia.

Personally I think emplaced TOWs, R-AT & H-AT kits do the job of providing infantry anti tank support
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

not for the conventional armies, but a big recoilles rifle or something similar for the insurgents would be great.

I like this idea---what about portable deployable TOWs?

TOW is crew served. You're not really going to go around carrying a TOW on your back, as hilarious as it'd look.

I think recoiless rifles would be awsome. Anyone remember the one in Black Hawk Down when the SF guys snuck up behind them?

I suggested this before, but i suggested a Technical with one on it, not a pickup kit. Would be an interesting alternative for the Insurgents / Milita rather than the TOW.

That was my point. It's crew served. Nobody is going around with a fully assembled TOW on their backs. There's three soldiers in the video (although one seems to be just covering), and assembly of the weapon takes a while.

That doesn't look like TOW either.

Uh, what? When did posting a URL(Which has nothing to do with the topic) and a smilie warrant a useful reply to the topic?

Anyway...

I think having the Civie Building a "Anti-Tank Structure"(Reguardless of what it is, field cannon, TOW Launcher, L4Z0R R!FL3, whatever) would solve all this "It'd be to cumbersome" and such.

I'd love to see old WWII AT guns, they are a real blast. I have a real thing for them :)
But i also think they will be best set in the upcoming FH2 mod :p
