I guess it's a balancing act between realism and being a computer game and I dont think it would be fun or realistic with 20+ Sniper rifles in one map.
Anthony Lloyd, himself a former soldier in the British army and a Northern Ireland and Gulf War veteran:
"The men inside (the APC) might have been UN but they were playing by a completely different set of rules. They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

If you get taken down without any friendlies around to revive you or pick up your kit, you deserve to have it nicked. And if the enemy has managed to wipe out your entire squad and capture your position, they deserve the bonus of getting hold of that extra MG, DMR or missile launcher.Fearosius wrote:It has come to my attention that after a person dies with his beloved M14/M249, it usually gets "stolen" away from him from the other team. To stop this, just code the game engine so limited kits can not be picked up by the opposite team. This would prevent one team having all 4 DMRs or 6 LMGs, therefore balancing out gameplay.

If this were implimented people would care even less about staying in one piece when they're carrying a valuable kit. And thats not good.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

If the limited kits can be requested after the enemy has earned it (NOT STOLEN IT) then the map would turn in to.....vanilla (or PR before limited kits).
This is just one of those "oh please, I cant play, so can you make it easier for me!" threads.
Or 35 249s!Gyberg wrote: I dont think it would be fun or realistic with 20+ Sniper rifles in one map.

Having kits remain on the battlefield is a bad idea. I'll go one step further and say bodies and kits to make my point. Imagine if when you died, both your body and kit remained. During the course of an hours worth of play, the kits and bodies on the ground would be so numerous that in some areas they would create a frigging hill. Kits need to disappear in the amount of time that is currently in place. Otherwise the landscape would be littered with kits. Kit system is good the way it is, and it forces you to be more careful. Oh, and I've never seen an instance where one faction got ALL the sniper kits and made some sort of uber sniper team.

just a bad idea... ill cut you a bit of slack because currently there is a glitch that makes the kits non requestable even if no one has it. that is going to be fixed, but i definitely dont think that people should be able to request more kits because theyre irresponsible. this would make them have no regard for where they are and what they are doing. "behind enemy lines" (aka not doing sh*t to help the team) snipers are teh pwnage lol.

So in Operation Phoenix:
As MEC, I flanked and got the M14 from a late arrival guy(after the first wave I saw this guy). I literally racked up like 20 kills in one life with that gun because I was not only super mega cautious, the wheat was too far away for it to be drawn.
So obviously, I'm going to allow stolen weapons. It's not like only one side can steal weapons(except Insurgents)

If its on the floor, its fair game. Tip: Don't die when you've got a limited kit.Fearosius wrote:It has come to my attention that after a person dies with his beloved M14/M249, it usually gets "stolen" away from him from the other team. As for your suggestion, yeah, sure we can totally recode the BF2 engine.

I think that its fair enough that you get to pick up a kit, but I don't think it realistic that you expect it to be rearmed with your friendlies ammo.
If we be talking about a war scenario, it would be near impossible for an army to keep stock of each kind of ammo being used by the enemy. if you want a refil, go and then find an enemies ammo bag I say.
You ******* hate snipers, I accept that, but what I don't accept is that you whine that it's not realistic and that "Everyone" IRL does it. Well "Everyone" IRL also has to supply their own ammo for an enemy gun unless its like an AK. You can't have one side of the see-saw on the ground all the time.
EDIT - I should also say that those who hate the snipers and get to kill them are always usually the first to go and get their kits. Bit Ironic.
