More seats in some transports.

Post by DavidP »

Is it possible to add more seats to some transport vehicles?

Like the spawn car? Reason being on al basrah 2 people will just spawn in it the car and not get out just afk and block it for the rest of the team, And if its the last car in a "hot" area it sucks for us insurgents.

And Heli's: I love it that they have 7 seats now but on jabal i was in position 7 and in the blackhawk, I noticed you could atleast fit 10 people in here. And people fight for the helis when they spawn sometimes noobs tk for gunner spots.

Is it possible to add more or not? I and many other people would love it.

Yeah, 8 passengers is max atm. But It would be nice too see some vehicles get extra slots. The british Jeep and insurgent car is a prime example.

Yep helis has been suggested many times before for 8 seaters, and I would like to see more seats in other cars like insurgents.

Models in BF2 have a maximum of 8 possitions. If we add more then BF2 will just CDT. Things like these have been sugested a lot in the past. Please use the search function before making a thread.

Sadly the BH can't have that one more slot so you have 2 gunners, pilot, and an entire squad.

I know the max is 8, but I've always wondered if it was possible to create 2 vehicles in one. Sound confusing?

By this I mean could you have seperate "slot areas" in one vehicle. For example, on the BH you could have the "cockpit" and "passenger space" areas. The cockpit would only have 2 slots, pilot and co-pilot. While the passenger space would have 6, 2 mini-gunners and 4 regular seated positions.

If you're in the cockpit, you can only move between F1 and F2, you cannot switch to the passenger area without actually exiting the cockpit and entering the blackhawk by one of the side doors. So to fly the BH, you must stand next to the cockpit, where as to ride the BH, you must enter next to one of the side doors.

I hope someone gets what I'm saying. I imagine something like this may have been tested before, but just in case I'm wondering if it's possible.

True, but $10 says that the engine would chuck a fit and die if the dev's tried it.

I like this too, it's like having a crew compartment and a passenger compartment, maybe even have seperate entry points
i.e.
merlin passengers can get in anywhere, crewmwmbers have to get inside, go to the cockpit and press e.

yes, great idea but im sure the devs would have already done such a thing if it was possible. I have no idea about modding in BF2 but i would imagine there is probably no way to 'attach' a vehicle to another, otherwise someone would have already used it in a mod.

It wasn't a vehicle. I've never seen anyone attach one vehicle to another in BF2, and it's probably impossible. If it was, DICE would probably include LCACs (provided they could also implement detaching on demand).

Why hasn't the obvious thing not been suggested yet? The problem has already been solved by the Merlin which allows you to be inside the vehicle without "entering" the vehicle. Now, this has it's own problems but works for it's purpose in allowing a lot of people to be packed into a transport. I don't know if it would even be possible or worthwhile to redo the other transport choppers and apc's so many people could fit inside but it's always an idea.
Thanks luizinhuu for the find
