Hi,

BF2 has gotten boring to me in general (same with 2142). I found this place and I decided I would give my first mod a try. ;-)

As it is downloading right now, I have a question.

It has always bugged me that in BF2 that vastly superior M1A2 was made comparable to the nearly non-existent T90 (was even ever produced in mass?).

I was hoping that this mod would make the M1A2 the tank that is really is. A mean ****** that tears through everything in its tracks and is very hard to kill.

I also would like to see better jets. I think it is silly that the J-10 defeats everything in the US Navy's offerings. We all know that the Chinese have a better Air Force than the USA

I suspect it would take a hefty IED to nail a M1A2....

Hello and welcome to the forums and PR. Im sure you wont be dissapointed with this mod and you seem like a mature guy which is what PR needs at the mo!

Depends how much c4 you use. And how much c4 you have depends on the class ;)

Don't forget to check out the guide. There are some nice player guide videos on Youtube, that show you how to request kits, so you don't have to bug people on the servers. There's no going back, if you really get into the teamplay with VOIP squads.

welcome to the forums.

as far as the M1A2 bit goes, we have at the moment had to leave the M1A2 and the T-90 around the same power to keep things blanced. Yes it may be unrealistic but its what EA left for us to work with, and if we where to make them realistic powers etc the USMC would just crash MEC on every battle where armour was envloved :p
It takes long enouth to make one tank for a team, with a tank probaly being one of the most complicated things to model and import and at the mo we are still working on getting our C2 fully ingame, you can see some nice renders of it on the news page :)

As for jets, I wouldn't really bother with them yet, maybe play around with the A-10 on basrah etc but at the mo, we have hardly done any work atall on making thme realistic etc. In v0.6 we have started are work on making them a little more realistic, but dont exspect that to be complete untill v0.7 or maybe .8 is out.

1 bit of advice thou, you are probaly still use to the "arcadey" style gameplay of vBF2, it takes some getting use too PR as there is a very big learning curve. When I first played PR back in 0.2, I hated it at first, then i gave it anouther try and loved it as soon as I started playing as a team, with my squad etc.

Try and join a good squad, read the player guide (link under the banner) which you really need to read, loads of things have changed like rally points, limmited kits, all that stuff that you will need to find out about so do read it.

anyways hope you have fun, and enjoy the mod! :D

I'd recommend getting a single player version of the game and spending an hour or so on that befor moving onto multiplayer. That way you can begin to get to grips with all the new stuff in PR without everyone on a server hating you.

Other than that, have fun and see ya on the 'field!

I plan on hopping in an empty server once I get this darn thing downloaded. It is taking forever and I have had it stop downloading twice now.

Here are my BF2 stats :)

if you have to stop the download again, use a download program with resume support like DAP or download it via torrent, that way if it stops again or w/e, you can pick up the download where u left off. the download is big cos its got lots in it, pu it that way :p

also, vbf2 stats dont mean much to be honest, the only thing that shows skill on them is your k/d ratio, all the rest is really just based on how much time you have been playing on ranked servers....

I love when some buddies get on BF2 / BF2142 and completely dominate servers because we are coordinated and organized. Just 1 squad can completely dominate a server. Take down a Titan within a minute or so of the shield going down or capturing the airfeild in Wake Island with 45 seconds.

It will be interesting when everyone is organized.... :D

Also a helpfull tip:
If you want to try out maps and tanks and planes start a local server than type
sv.NumPlayersNeededToStart 1

This will start the game with only you in it. Create a squad and you will be able to request crewman/pilot kit.
