i think this is a good idea but not practical, maybe introducing the parachuted car again will work better but you can only get it by having an officer kit, so its more realistic.
small car(3seater) for 3 man squads
large car(6seater) for 6 man squads
but maybe you could have a different way of "targeting" a car, like the targeting of enemy troops, but instead you target the car and it comes up with a squad number (your squads, if you targeted it)and only your sqaud can stay in the car(drive), anybody else can try to drive it but will die once they put their foot down(allowing use of .50 if the need arises) but .50 will stop working once one of your squad members gets in and the guy will die if you put your foot down.

i'm just trying to make it easy for the devs, i'd rather them work on new models for the british than waste time coding a squad only feature for vehicles. this is easier and also think of it this way, what if only squad members could use a vehicle and your squad is under fire and are running back to the Humvee to pull out. and there is one guy on your side who is not in your squad but is alone since the rest of his squad was taken out.
as far as the cost i wouldn't mind paying 5-10 tickets for a jeep.
- in a "squad only" situation the guy who is alone has to follow the humvee on foot and ends up getting shot in the back of the head.
- in a squad spawned situation the squad spawns the humvee at their leisure and if someone that isn't in their squad needs to get out of a situation he can get out safely.

I'm going to further reinforce the idea. I think it really helps especially during the intial rushes. Last game I had was on Qwai River, which is mostly light vehicles and transport choppers. At the start of the map, mostly everyone jumps in a jeep and rushes to the nearest flag. However alot of times you end up with mixed jeeps consisting of members from varying squads. This sort of throws organization off, since you may have a crucial element of your squad sitting on the other side of the map.
With the squad vehicle, you can improve the organization during the intial rush. It further increases the value of being apart of a squad, it also places more emphasis on the SL & Officer's kit, and enhances the concept of a dynamic battlefield.
I believe a 5 minute timer is good enough. Assuming a squad can only spawn one or two at a time, their previous one would have to be destroyed in order to request another one. Not to mention you would still have to spawn all the way back at main base if you wanted one, I doubt many people would do that for a mere Humvee or something.

Adding my voice to the call for this - it's an excellent idea, but I've no idea if it's possible to let SLs place vehicles... Devvvvvv? Clarification? *puppydog eyes*
