Yes, but let’s keep in mind that the A-10 has a maximum speed of 704 km/h, and a never exceed speed of 834 km/h. In PR 0.5 the A-10 has an average speed of 830 km/h (also being around its maximum, because the map sizes still too small which makes it hard to manually balance speed with “W”VipersGhost wrote:Anyone notice how fast that A-10 is moving. Damn...the jets are going to be insanely sexy-fast. I've seen the teaser videos for them but it seems like that A-10 just puts it in scale. Ah maybe one suggestion...could we add some more bass-throaty sound on that Gu-8?

830 in BF2 is not 830 IRL.Cheeseman wrote:Yes, but let’s keep in mind that the A-10 has a maximum speed of 704 km/h, and a never exceed speed of 834 km/h. In PR 0.5 the A-10 has an average speed of 830 km/h (also being around its maximum, because the map sizes still too small which makes it hard to manually balance speed with “W”) which is completely unrealistic, as the plane could not endure more than it is built to function and at such never exceeding speeds it would have structural failure. Now if the A-10 is going to be even faster than the present Thunderbolt aircraft in 0.5(with its maximum speed the same as its never exceeding speed), then it’s going to be even more unrealistic.

Are you a tester?.. Have you seen this in-game yet?Cheeseman wrote:This is why the number needs some tweaking to represent a scaled down in game version of the A-10.
If not, you need to bloody wait and see what it's like 1st.
How do YOU know it needs tweaking?.. The patience the DEVs must have to put up with inane comments like yours is amazing.
If you have tested this i apologies. If you are telling a DEV from his update news about the unreleased 0.6, that you dont think its good enough or not 'right', then you my friend are a class one muppet. Allow them to release it, then you can tell them how to make it better.
OMFG take me to a ditch a beat me senseless please.. getting demanding for 0.7 now.Cheeseman wrote:The M16A4 should be in by 0.7.

The only thing that needs tweaking is your attitude. I’m referring to the 0.5 version needing a speed tweak; not implying in the present phase of 0.6 this is not fixed. The Dev’s have not informed the public about small tweaks like the speed tweak, and thus before a release is in place suggestions are made to see if it can be implemented before a release or it will be delayed. Learn to comprehend other peoples writing before you make replies.MadTommy wrote:Are you a tester?.. Have you seen this in-game yet?

Brilllaint sound affect, combined with my nice little sub, i also think now i should truely be able to properly piss every one in my house and next door oFF, no questions, nice one SOUND MAN!
What map was that, my guess is the 17kmsquared one?????????
Although, i must add, i looks like there is absolutely NO infantry cover out in that desert, hahaaaa, owell, should be highly amusing for tank drivers and aircraft to see 6 random small dots wandering around like lost sheep in the middle of fckign no where, just waiting to die, or so they think.....

We're not really trying to scale anything down. On the contrary we're trying to scale things like view distances and map sizes UP to match our efforts to model vehicle and weapon systems with as much realism fidelity as our time and the engine will allow.Cheeseman wrote:This is why the number needs some tweaking to represent a scaled down in game version of the A-10.
The speed indicators in game are meaningless. We have done some timed distance runs to clock the vehicles and they are pretty close to their real life counterparts.

not bad... It looks like it's a bit too fast but when compared to these, not so much.

Hard to tell with the angles but seems about right.

...
starting to sound like the real deal!! I think a lot of the unique sound of the A-10 gun has much to do with delay: the "grunt" as it were, comes about a second after the gun has finished firing, so it actually comprises of 2 sounds, which may be difficult to capture in BF2.'[R-CON wrote:Jaymz']What would be the real thing, louder? That's the loudest sound in 0.6.....
they way you have it now the "grunt" comes from the Gun of the A-10 when infact the loud grunt should be an environmental sound. The existing a-10 gun sound to my ear compaired to videos i've seen sounds pretty accurate tbh, it doesn't need to be very loud, however there is no "enivronmental sound at all" in game. If you were to apply a heavy compression & a slight touch of reverb to the origonal game sound, then somehow get it to trigger as an environmental sound, like say thunder, a second after the gun finishes firing, or, say to start a few seconds after the gun starts firing. Then you would have the elusive Warthog sound captured I reckon

On another note, even though the image quality isn't the best on the video, damn look how far out to the horizon you can see the plane!
