ABR & ranks

Post by ArmedDrunk&Angry »

I was just playing in CDM and my rank showed as 2nd Lt......... why ?
I don't run ABR although I did install it a long time ago.
I have no aircraft badges since I don't fly much since .3 ......
Any ideas / comments ?
Is this why I see 3 star generals walking around ?
Some kind of 'nilla bleed through ?

EDIT. I checked my stats @ http://bf2s.com/player/46205725/
and it turns out I am an officer.
It's worse than turning 30... now I really can't trust myself

Another Thread on ABR?

Man, ABR is dodgy stuff, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Some servers have it, some don't.
Sometimes it takes ages to update, sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes....

I thought the stats I checked were for PR.
Who the F wants to be an officer ?
This wasn't about ABR, it was about ME !

it kind of just happens.
I did have a whole strategy of becoming an General.. i dedicated so many hours a day, never took a holiday, only allowed to sleep 4 hours a night, i made sure i ate good fiber every morning, and exercised at least twice a week. I had a shit & a shave every morning as my papa used to tell me to do. But hell, i found that if you just have fun, frag a lot and help your buddies you end up a Colonel in no time. The irony eh!

I worked for rank in nilla until I had all the unlocks then I didn't care.
Since there are no unlocks here I don't really care much but as others have pointed out, if you see a high ranking player chances are he/she knows how to play well and is worth joing up with or at least following when cut off from your own squad.
But the mystery remains as to why I appear as a 2nd Lt ( my nilla rank ) when playing on a PR server.
