Insurgent Armor in Al Basrah

I guess that now that devfile.com is gone this might be useless (who know if i'll play Al Basrah again), but I have to ask anyway.

I love playing insurgent in Al Basrah, specially hunting choppers with RPGs, but the other day I wanted to try something different so I spawned in the Palace and tried to get on that very ugly APC. But I couldn't request a crewman quit, and it wouldnt move without it. Neither could I use the tank in Industry.

So the question is: How do you use those vehicules without being crewman? or how do you get a crewman kit?

I thought about going to hunt an american tank, drag the driver out of it and stealing his kit... but it seemed a lot of work, so I went back the alleys near facility and kept shooting down choppers

You must select the Mechanic Class from the Spawn menu.

Yep. The tanks are very useful in-game, in my opinion. The APC itself I don't understand -- it seems to shoot sabot rounds, but it took 20 some rounds or more to bring down an ammo truck. It has only one ammo type but at least it has a machine gun. So I pretty much use it as a gun platform with a mobile spawnpoint in the back.
