Sorry for this topic , but i really need help.
Yesterday evrything was fine, i play 4 hours, but i click on icon today and see:
"Cannot locate DVD ROM
Please insert correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"
I reinstall from original DVD and no luck - even vBF not start...
Any suggestion?
need your idea, cause i m exhausted

5 possibilities:
- Your drive is faulty. Try inserting another CD/DVD to see if the drive reads it. Or try an alternate drive.
- A remote chance your disk has corrupted (warped or skipped a vital area because of scratch) Clean the disk. A light rub with floor wax sometimes fills in a scratch in the disk. Try inserting a buddies copy of BF2 to see if the drive reads it.
- Your drive has somehow become unattached or loose from either the power supply or the drives interface cable depending on what type (IDE cables are notorious for not attaching tightly). Open the case and check the connection.
- Your external bus system ( expansion bus) has corrupted or is faulty. Although if your hard drive/s are working then that's a very remote possibility.
If your drive works properly and seated tightly, and the disk is sound as well as the bus system, then the last and final possibility is a corrupted path or malicious file. That would call for either a complete virus scan or a reinstall of windows as your last resort, but my guess is it's hardware (your drive).
Edit: [oddly enough a new drive can actually be cheaper then a new copy of BF2]
