Cuz it's effeectively free bandwidth. Otherwise we'd have to put the build up on multiple mirror sites who have either subscriptions and/or ad spam to pay for their bandwidth.

Wrong. Your upload does not slow down the download unless improperly configured. Without your upload (and other people's upload), you wouldn't be anywhere near having the file by now.

To those having slow downloads, check whether your torrent client is indicating being firewalled.

The easiest way to make sure the proper ports get forwarded is to enable UPnP on your router. That will allow uTorrent / Azureus to automatically forward the ports they need.

Both uTorrent and Azureus have little indicators in their statusbar to tell you whether they're firewalled off (port forwarding is needed to fix that) in which case you can expect slower downloads.

Setting your upstream to about 75%-80% of your upstream (instead of 100%) will allow you to work normally and also avoid any download slowdown.

But if you set your upstream way down, your download will also slow down, that's how torrents are designed. The more you share, the more you get. Torrents are a cooperative system ;)

WOW, mine just shot up to 600-700kb. Azereus is working good so far for me.

Anyone know what this Runtime Error, Line 38(Object Required) thing that keeps popping up when I open and close Azereus?

I like torrents because you don't HAVE to download the file all at once. It's annoying when downloading something from a mirror and say the PC crashes or you have to restart, and you have to start the download from scratch.

Ahh, ok....forgot about the firewall....
But still slow, gone down to 5 Kbps :(
Well, Im still uploading at a regular speed of 30-40 Kbps....can someone be so nice to give me at least a few minutes of 120 Kbps back, so it will go faster? :p

Amen.

It's so frustrating to have a download almost finished,
than you loose your inet-connection...

Is your torrent client complaining about being firewalled? That would be the first thing to look at.

In your router config page. usually 192.168.1.1 or .100 in your address bar in your browser, if you put in the ip of the router you should get a user/password prompt and its usually admin admin.

Is this a full build? Full install I mean...can I uninstall the old PR folder if I don't intend on playing .5 anymore?

its a beta or 'testing stage' build.

You can install it, and it'll make another icon on your desktop.

It's not really supposed to be played like .6 has been released, its to help find out things that are wrong with it if there are any. ;)

ZOMG! It better not come out before my exams are over! I actually need to study (and we all know its impossible to study/do any work for at least 2 weeks after a new PR version comes out!)

But seriously, I'm really looking forward to it! Good job DEVs!!

So you can install it and still go back to your .5 icon and play .5? Because I dont see too many .6 test servers up (US west anyway...)

Only 4 test servers atm, but none are full anyway - so no need for a new one

Could someone please host this on a mirror? The torrent speed is unbearable.
