From what I've played, most of it seems pretty good. I do feel that the malitia have been introduced a bit too early and have been a tad short changed. They've also highlighted the need for an animator on the PR team like never before.

I also played on Ghost Train and that seemed like an improvement over its last outing. The APCs definetly add alot to the map. And I love all the new sounds, too. And of course, tis where I got me first knife kill of v0.6 beta!

Oh, and shotguns. They work really well now. I <3 whoever made that happen. Nothing like poping up from a coverd trench and raking a passing landy with buckshot while yelling "Get some!" and actually having it work!
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Haven't been keeping up on the forums, but I just found the 'open beta' at fileplanet (wouldn't it technically be open alpha? as pr isn't out of beta?) hoping its nice :)

OW its nice, I'm sure you'll love it like an ugly baby. And... if you don't, then you'll be loving my baseball bat instead.

JUST KIDDIN, everyone knows I use steel poles. ;)

Also its Open Beta, because there are a few bugs which need to be discovered, so it’s made public in order to get everyone in the community to help out in finding these bugs.

(Hey Stealth Clobber, that was some fun gaming last time in Basrah. :p )

No.

1. -too many smacktards fighting over it and hanging at the airport

2. -in the hands of a hacker it became the B2, the strafer and carpet bomber of every living thing in the cyber world

3. -made the map seriously unbalanced (mostly because of #1, rather than carpet bombing)

4. The new Basrah Village is fully destructible and its a pain in the *** already, when the IFVs start leveling it down...imagine two A10s, one overflight and it gone to rubble...

5. No more AA guns in the map, not sure they will get back (at least return the SA-7)

List goes on...

Well, let em hang around at the airfiled for all i care!

It's all about infantry for me, with the new rifleman class the game is gonna rock even more than before. Besides the fact that the insurgency can actually do some damage with their tanks this time.

I say , 0.6 is gonna be a blast! Looking forward to it! 8-) :D

this poll is stupid. the realse of .6 will be very diffrent from the open beta. In the open beta alot of stuff is not done, and alot of the code, like how the rally points work now etc is very POC.

Edited the title, as it's a little misleading, which annoyed Rhino :D

I love it atm, had some awesome fights on Al Basrah, not sure if it's that less jerks are playing in Beta than live or it is the game is just better but gee it's awesome.

Had a bunch of insurgents take the VCP whilst I was trying to set up a Forward fire base at the North Bridge, the insurgents opened up with two 50cal jeeps so i dived behind my commander truck, the jeep next to me covering me got wiped out. Was pinned for 30 seconds before a warrior turned up and laided down suppressing fire than 4-5 of us moved up a re-secured the CP. Tactics like this carried on for the whole match.

The biggest difference is the extra Zoom on armor, it means they are put to proper use rather than engaging at point blank.

I love the long range fire fights on Kashan. Mestia is also very very nice, when you're in a good squad.

Some cool things have happened on Basrah too. I was playing civilian and walked into mosque from the east. This Brit soldier runs at me with a knife, so I escape back out of the gate to the street, where my friend the insurgent waits with an AK. The soldier chasing me had his knife out and he just froze for a sec before he got shot.

So far I haven't had a real good round of 0.6 but that is becuase it's beta. I don't really worry to much about capping etc. more about looking around, trying things out etc. But once everyone gets their heads wrapped around the new rules 0.6 will really shine.

Al Bashra looks great. I havnt gotten around to all the maps yet. One thing I do like about Al Bashra, is the floating pipes over the water on the east side. The buildings look great, so does the check point between the airport and the city.
