Promote spotting enemies!
Recently on the public servers I've been noticing that squads are not spotting enemies or passing the information on to other squads, the team or the commander.
This is causing problems with other squads getting splattered across the map or hit from behind.
Please start promoting the use of spotting enemies so this problem becomes less of a problem. It is up to the vet players using these forums to start promoting this crucial part of the game.

[R-MOD]Mongolian Dude: AH man, sarcasm is so hard to get across the web, even if we are both british
[R-DEV]Jaymz: That has to be...the most epic response to a welcome thread I have ever seen. [R-CON]Mr.D ladies and gentlemen!

During those situations, i force myself to be less of a SL barking orders, and more of a normal guy having fun. Joke around and stuff. it opens people up on the mic at the end of the day.
Obviously, thats not needed a lot of the time

Yeah, well - if a certain element has infiltrated the PR scene and keeps yelling at the few folks that actually wants to contribute to the game, no wonder more and more clams up.
Hey - I got ventrilo and teamspeak. I don't have to talk to any of you.

The way spotting is ingame is horribly unrealistic - encouraging this 'cheating' is not something I would support'[R-PUB wrote:MrD']Recently on the public servers I've been noticing that squads are not spotting enemies or passing the information on to other squads, the team or the commander.

Spot spamming, that's just hitting q-spot when you don't see anything in the hopes that a red dot will pop up.
That is a noobs tactic.
Using the q-spot to spot a target BEFORE you start to shoot at him, maybe even without shooting at him because he might have friends close by, that is proper procedure for prosperous painting of prospective targets.

And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

not realy , this way u get the situational awearness of what u would in real life or some one being able to physicaly show u , also it shows other squads which IRL u could use inter coms to tell positions.

I'm sorry but that's bull. There are much better ways of implementing a spotting function then BF2's one click, magic information sharegazzthompson wrote:not realy , this way u get the situational awearness of what u would in real life or some one being able to physicaly show u , also it shows other squads which IRL u could use inter coms to tell positions.

I Q-Spot all enemies I encounter that I have time to do so. I'm not going to spot the guy in knifing range, wither of not he's looking at me.
But I also use it for friendly identification. If I'm not 100 percent sure, I'm going to try and check him.
I'm probably one of the only guys to use the Binoculars, so I'm usually on a hill spotting enemies, I try to mark one of them at least, if there are more, I'll try not to spam it... Unless I'm driving around a supply truck (Not the commander one) and come across two tanks, an APC, and a supply truck (all enemies of course) I'm going to light the place up with spot calls.
And I also use VOIP for spotting. If I know there is an enemy not in my line of sight and therefore unable to be Q-Spotted, I'll tell my squad "There is someone to the <INSERT DIRECTION>" Same with vehicles since they are easier to hear than see and spot.
My only problem with the system is when I'm hoofing along, hear a missed spot call, and see a question mark on me, scares the **** out of me sometimes. And, also, when I see the entire area around me light up, either they are trying to warn me, or they can't hold their mouse steady enough to spot me.

Spot before you shoot - that's the instructions I give as a SL or given to me by my SL most of the time. People normally obey too - I must have a good bunch of people to play with. Heck, I normal spot anyway, just to confirm it's an enemy and not a friendly before I shoot.
