Map idea for .6/.7

Post by Expendable Grunt »

I figure the first part could be done for .6 easily, and the latter be either a .7 map or a map that comes out during .6 similar to the Baghdad map (What ever happened to that anyway? The server fell off the Earth)

Anyway both involve the Militia faction, because they're awesome.

1) On Mesita, can we have the map NOT involve RPG's in any way? The map does not have them now and it's not too hard for Militia to use smoke/C4 or landmines to defeat the warrior IFV's. I think it would be a very unique scenario. Maybe the militia group out there is lacking RPG's or they've already used all their ammo, or something like that. It would make the map very different and awesome.

2) On an Urban map similar to what happened at Grozny, maybe we *could* have a few non-heavy weapon pickup kits.

This Militia faction in the game appears to be on the lacking of AK, which is cool and I like it alot, but maybe have two or three AK pickup kits, or *maybe* a few pickup kits containing the rifle of whatever army they're fighting on the map.

An example would be thus: (They're fighting US in this example) At the urban ammo dump, there are a few RPG's, a few sniper rifles, an MG or two, and a few kits with an M16 OR AK (whatever model), and the militia grenades (maybe more stuff who knows). Might not be a popular idea but it does not seem to have been suggested before, and would simulate a long and protracted history of fighting against the opposing army.

I figure these ideas might spice the maps up a bit. Hack away at it as you will!

Devs said they were adding a lot of pickup kits for mestia later, what they are remains to be seen.

Militia wont' recieve any grenadier kits ? Because if they get them , it would be pretty fair to have 1-2 per squad with AK-47( possibly AKM ? ) or AK-74

Does it hurt to read the sticky threads?

Bubba, that has nothing to do with my suggestion.

An example would be thus: (They're fighting US in this example) At the urban ammo dump, there are [...] a few kits with an M16
I love that, and it sound realistic I guess... Adding them in some bunkers that start controlled by the USMC would "show" how militia are capturing bunkers and military bases and looting the weapons. And the same thing with AK(/old russian guns) for the usmc(/everyone) in the storage bunker/munition depot of the militia.

Yeah, nothing too much but it adds a little variety. Militia is a made up faction ("made up") so we can experiment a bit with them. It would be nice if for urban maps the militia had an alternate loadout for their Militant so he trades in his lower ROF long range weapon for a shorter range higher ROF weapon, but since we can't do that, this kit idea might be a step in a new direction.

In case my first post seems rambly and unorganized (haven't been sleeping much then), it goes like this:

1) Mesita should NOT have RPG's, and instead the Militia faction should rely on smoke screens and C4 or well placed minefields to defeat the vehicles. They already do this and I've personally had good success with it.

2) Make an urban map with Militia and add in unique pickup kits. These pickup kits include an AK(insert variant here) kit with maybe some grenades but not much else (similar to the war vet kit for insurgents, but with something to make them stand out. Maybe the AK54 with drum mag lol :p ). Another pick up kit is the standard sniper rifle, RPG, machine gun, etc. The final type would consist of the basic infantry rifle belonging to the side they're fighting, plus some F1 grenades (militia grenade) and maybe a field dressing along with ___________. It represents these militiamen having gone up against the army before and having captured weapons from them when their own weapons failed or fell short of ammo.

Dev input would be nice.

mestia will have both rpg/sniper and machine gunner kits in the second phae of the OB...IMO would be nice to not have a large quantity of rpgs..but lets see how it goes...

some of these kits will show up in the front line bunkers at the start of the round so should be eliminated later in the round of the brits cap the CP...ie they wont respawn...bunkers is cleared..

militia are gonna opena can of whoop *** on the brits basically but they will still have tactical superiority due to their weapons versatility and their vehicles and associated firepower...mind you it will be hairy..

anyone use those AA guns on infantry yet? thats what they were placed for...

cheers

I like the idea of pick up RPG kits that, as the CP's are lost, dissapear. This to me would reflect the resources getting used up more so then not having them at all. At least give them a chance to use them carefully in limited #'s and loose them as the round progressis
