No little birds on Jabal (beta)

Hi there,
I noticed there a no little birds on jabal now (beta 0.6)
Just wondering what the g.o. is ?
Do they spawn a little later or have they just been removed completely?
If they've been removed, What was the thinking there?

I hope they were removed. MEC don't get them, why would USMC?

because if usmc dont get them, mec go all lat or heavy at and destroy all the apcs from miles away while they are still in the water.

it would really suck to play as us on that map without decent transport.

They have got a pair of Blackhawks, you know.

Hopefully this is part of a phased removal of the LB from virtually all of PR, as they are only used by US army SF.

Yeah, That's why I watched a youtube video a couple of months ago where they dropped a US army squad (not SF) onto a rooftop in iraq.

Just a heads up, Bob Marley usually knows what he is talking about in these matters. I would do a little homework on this to be sure, more then just youtube

With L-AT and H-AT now both pickup kits this should help with the AT spaming.

I was actually pointing that out to the guy who said the USMC wouldnt have a "decent transport" on the map without the LBs. The BH is probubly the best of the big transport helos in PR. The only reason that it would'nt be a decent transport is if the pilots are rubbish. As I whitnessed a couple of days back when BHs were happily flying straight into the kill zone of my squad's H-AT gunner.

1. They're still the army, not the USMC. LBs should not be operating from carriers. Or with the USMC at all, really.

2. Maybe I should have been clearer, they're only flown by the US army's SF (the 160th something or other IIRC. You know, the lot that dont offically exist). While they might be deployed to support regular troops, its rare and are almost entirely devoted to supporting the US army's other SF units.

I'd still be disappointed if they were removed.
They're still a great little piece of machinery and very effective (WUP)
There's a little bird on kasharn des (MEC) so it doesn't look like they're being removed.
I'm just curious as to the thinking of removing them from jabal?
(is it just to see how many ppl scream that they're gone)

(I have practiced and practiced),
but I'm quite proficient in a little bird,
Hopefully this isn't the end of my days dropping off/picking up troops on jabal.

exactly what bob stated, plus there is actually THREE blackhawks on the carrier.

simply put, blackhawk can havea pilot plus a full squad, where little bird can only have 6 max...

so blackhawk makes much more sense...

Kiowa is Army.

The Huey is the light utility heli for the USMC. Its used transport, light attack/armed recon and what not

The LB is the only chopper that can do insertions on PR. the BH is a flying coffin most of the time....we talk of reality for taking out the LB...the BH can do mach one in a dive and takes 30 seconds to decend 30-50 feet. Jabal needs the LB so US can get people around fast and safe.

Now we ll have a team of Mec LAT, HAT, AA spamming rockets to take down the coffins.

If you think that you've never flow with or fought against good pilots who know thier maps. While few and far between, ace helo pilots can do a great job with the BH.

R-AT, H-AT and R-AA kits are all limited in v0.6 making it much easier for helis to get around without having a rocket shoved up thier arse.

Going into a hot LZ with any heli is suicide, as is flying over known enemy positions. You need to fly clever inorder to win, stick to the less traveled routes for enemy ground forces, fly round the edges of the map, use concealed LZs.

Oh, and not only are the MEC's 12.7mm sights the worst, heavy machine guns also suck against helis.

Also, with the BH you've got miniguns. Use 'em. If you insist on flying over areas where you know the enemy to be have your door gunners suppress them with one of the most powerful anti personell weapons in the game.

Except all AT Kits are limited come 0.6beta. You won't likely have more then one LTAT in a squad. And to see any type of coordination with two LTAT kits in one squad shooting simutaneously and hitting their target in a PUB would be nothing more then miraculous. If you get hit by a HAT your screwed anyways. And you should avoid AA with any helo and plus who can't SPAM AA rockets anyways. At most they get one shot off that will not bring down the chopper anyways.

And insertions can be done easily with the right pilot

And if removing the LB means bringing the HUEY in

THEN DO IT!!!

P.S. Don't get me wrong i LOVE the LB but it is their game. Adjust

If you think a heli insertion is landing within 50m of a flag you deserve to die. Still to this day, 9/10 chopper pilots are idiots and fly right over threats low and slow or land right in the shit. Use the transport to get you 80% or so of the way to where you want to go and land in a safe area and walk the rest of the way. It's a flying bus and should be treated as such.
