spawning on SL in .6

Rally Points are a bit fubar in 0604, changing for 0605.

We might try a v0.7 open beta with SL spawning removed, but I think it would be as bad for gameplay in v0.7 as it was in the brief tests we did with it in v0.5.

It does a lot for squad cohesion which is one of the defining elements of BF2 / PR.

I was for the limiting AT and grenadier,that was a huge improvement and one of the greatest features along with radio silence and view distances and medics and etc. etc.

No more magically spawning 4 LAT guys with infinite ammo(considering one is a rifleman) out of nowhere right after spotting a chopper or APC.

However you have to wait 2 minutes at your base to get one of them at the start of the round and there are only 3 kits iirc.That was a bit harsh,maybe you add one pick up LAT kit on every RP placed and 2 on main bases(this ones must have a big respawn time).

+ 1 grenadier, saw and LAT kits in 0605 for the 24p and 28p+ teams

2 minutes is only when you change squads, join a squad first before you spawn and you will not have to wait 2 minutes.

However unrealistic SL spawning is... it is THE key gameplay element that really ties squads together even on public servers as opposed to every single other FPS out there.

Please NEVER consider removing that feature.

As it is now you can spawn at SL, but not pick any but the basic kits. It's perfect. It's simply just a wonderful system enhancing gameplay so much.

With the Squad Jumping gone... it works perfectly.

If I could pick only one feature for a new FPS it would be the SL spawning system!

Yeah .. I agree. I think that one of the nicest changes to the SL spawning system is the addition of RPs. With RPs the SL can get into the fight and not glitch themselves somewhere as a spawn point. Those two, imo, go a long way to making for some great teamwork and the main element is the SL spawning.

Far too many people want to trade game play for realism because of a lack of imagination and a tunnel visioned view that everything should be literally realistic.

My view has always been than one of the most realistic things PR can create as a gaming experience is the teamwork and the imperative to rely upon your squad mates to be successful.

Exactly!

No other game I have tried creates this feeling. ARMA which is supposed to be realistic has some of the most arcadish gameplay because there is no team work.
