Roleplaying in PR
I don't know who came up with the idea of "checkpoint roleplaying" on Al Basrah, but its bloody brilliant! I had tons of fun doing that, and a lot of fun trying to set up a deal to buy the location of the last caches (even though some of the insurgents tried to sabotage the deal, and it ended with me busting the other guy)
Anyway, thx to the person/people who came up with this!

Heh, the other day I was following a civilian who said he'd lead us to a cache. On the way there, he met another civilian. They started arguing about a camel or something in the global chat, and soon enough one of the civilians started tossing rocks at the other one. I "arrested" the one who started for disturbing the peace and assault
Also, to me checkpoint roleplaying means that your CO is going to have your *** for losing the VCP to insurgents.

role play ftw
when we did it, i had an informant who we had to get out of enemy fire (which was fecking hard). at first i was close protection for the informant, then i flew in a merlin helicopter in mosque as part of a 'deal' to get info.
also good when we were in a column of jeeps moving to an 'supposed' ammo cache, only to have our asses ambushed, resulting in some sweet off road driving (if i do say so myself) and generally stepping on it.
good times, good times.....

I was with you on that round. It was great! I was that last w*nker who needed a pickup at palace, and took a round as I entered the chopper, resulting in a bleed-out as we reached the safety of the VCP.gazzthompson wrote:i think i was the first to start this i first said defend palace but there was only 5 of us so it was real hard and then we got extracted by chopper (was real cool) and went to NVCP , and defended there.
More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

What is "Checkpoint roleplaying"? Sounds like I missed out on something new and interesting.dunehunter wrote:I don't know who came up with the idea of "checkpoint roleplaying" on Al Basrah, but its bloody brilliant! Many at Tactical Gamer like to roleplay within the game. It doesn't always work best on a public server, so we're starting to create our own roleplaying events & scenarios. I'd like to see what others are doing.

Lol, not me. I was telling the admin who was knifing un-armed civvies so he could kick them.Outlawz wrote:LOL
Yeah, but it was dumb, seeing Eddie saying, "cmon, civies, we wont hurt you, then all of a sudden some prick shows up, and knifes everyone...not Edddie of course...
I did save a few of your civilian arses tbf. As soon as I saw a soldier run at you with a knife I slotted them with my L96.
Although, some civvies turned bad! So I finished them off too. Didn't matter to me though, I didn't die for the rest of the round
