What do you want to see in a Realism Mod?

Well in that case, can you please please consider for a future update, small rocket pods on the wings, and m240s door mounted??

That way, it'd be a transport, but it'd have support from the rockets, and it could be a good ground support, as most Hueys (even slicks) are once they've dumped their crew.

That and the AH-1Z is more of a tank buster, while the Huey is a light scout, and you could have Hueys alot weaker, and still, they'd be a ton of fun. The AH-Zs would be more tank busters, while the Hueys would be launching anti personnel rockets. No TOWs or anything.

I Love the transport helo's in these games, and I'm glad to see all the work that the PR team has put into the new helicopters, like the Merlin. (I don't know if this has been suggested yet) I think it would be awesome to give helo's like the blackhawks the ability to deploy fast ropes for troops to rope down on. Since a lot of streets are to small to land a blackhawk in, and landing has a lot of risk to it. It would also just be sweet to be able to rope troops out.

LOL, yeah. :p But sometimes, I'm right. I've been spamming this forum for a while, y'know? :p

Anyway, yeah, it should have the door mounted M240s. That's standard loadout, AFAIK.

Let me fill out what details Top_Cat left out. Fastroping has been suggested many times before, and has become something of a joke around here for that reason. People who suggest it tend to be flamed and their threads to be locked. Luckily, you posted it in this thread, which I seem to be the only regular reader of. :razz:

Well, back to the ropes. As TC said, EA tried to make it and failed. It can (maybe) theoretically be done, but it would look absolutely horrible - the BF2 engine is not made for fastroping - would be very buggy - like the grappling hook, where you loose your grip every time you hit something and die if a single round hits you - and it would be completely unneeded, as the helos can land in narrow streets because their rotor blades don't collide with objects. It would be cool, yes, realistic as well, but would serve no real purpose and would be a lot of work for something that can't really be implemented properly or possibly not at all.

And thanks to TC for arranging the safe house. :razz:

I would like not dieing when hoping out of a slow moving vehicle. I have jumped out of moving trucks at the speeds I hop out with and don't instantly crumble in a dead heep.

I don't know. Usually, I try to stay inside moving vehicles IRL, y'know?

But at low speeds, jumping out shouldn't hurt you much. Something like being chucked a rock at by a civilian should be OK.

Why not just jump out of the vehicle once it has stopped like everybody else
And think of another idea that would actually add to the gameplay?

Oh, come on. It might not add much to gameplay, but it's realistic, as opposed to quite a few other suggestions (remember the "bring back crosshairs" thread a while ago?). :D

You don't die from jumping out of a slow moving vehicle, you just get a compound fracture that lacerates your femoral artery and requires immediate medical attention or you will bleed to death.
I would like to see it have more of a gradient from the sprained ankle you get from going down the stairs too fast up to the current bleed out.

I would like to see a map with a couple of US or British ships (not a carrier, try something like one of the new US ships that are coming out such as the LCS or an LPD, or one of each, it would need to have some kind of gun emplacement such as a 5-inch cannon for protection and prevent spawn camping) at the Eastern edge of the map and 3 small islands (one located in the center of the map, one located in the NW corner and the other at the southeast edge of the map) controlled by a faction such as the Chinese (for the Pacific, the best choice because it could have jungle themes for good cover) or the MEC (for the Med or Persian Gulf) The US team would have something like one H-53 Sea Stallion and 2 littlebirds (one a transport, the other attack on one ship and 2 MH-60 SeaHawks (a blackhawk) and an AH-1Z on the other US ship. The LCS (the best option for this map) would have 2 boats and 2 APC's in its bay while the LPD (if applicable) would have 4 APC's and 3 boats. The US team would have to island hop to win the game, the southern island (which would be the smallest) would have to be captured first. Although very small, with only one flag, it would be heavily defended (a few AA emplacements, pillboxes or gun emplacements, and some kind of trench system on the beach, only a jeep or two though because of its small size) and have 2 spawn points on the island. The next island that would have to be captured would be the center island. This island would be almost twice the size of the first island, it would be lacking slightly in AA, but would make up for it with 2 patrol boats (something bigger than the RIB that can't be killed with just a quick strafing, it would be about twice as large as the RIB and would have a spawn point on it as well as some kind of very heavy machine gun, it would be able to be taken out with 2 tv missiles or a shot from the LCS's 5-inch cannon) a tank or two, a few jeeps and have around 2-3 spawn points. This would be where most of the big battles would take place. The third island would be some kind of a cross between the 1st and 2nd island and have a helicopter base on it. A transport helicopter or two and an attack chopper would make the airpower slightly tilted in the US teams favor, but not much. I think that this kind of a map would be very popular and would get away from the carriers (which in my opinion are over used in BF2). You're thinking something along the lines of Wake Island in '42 crossed with Operation Clean Sweep from vBF2? Or have I misunderstood?

first time ivr ever put something up on the net, so sorry if i stuff up.

I thing has always bugged me everytime i go to throw granades. when the animation pulls the pin and i get shot b4 i can throw the granade away. nothing happens. Why? iv pulled the pin so it should explode. this could be such an amusing, realistic feature.

I could see it now. my squad behind me an enemy squad in front. i run out and throw my granade but i get shot b4 i let go and fall 2 the ground. Now 2 things could happen.

A. the enemy runs out 2 steel my kit or move up and "Bang!" i score a kill when im down.

B. my squads medic runs out (for once. lazy medics) and i really screw up and take him out with me.

now also remembr that because im only down doesnt mean im dead.... till the granade goes off.

I'd be in favour of this but i think it's an engine issue!

I´d like to see some hitbox related injuries.
Like getting shot in the leg... movement goes down.. shot to chest... imediate blurred sight und going to the ground, yelling and screaming.
shot to the weapon arm... very bad accuracy and so on.
I know ill get the only possible answer "sry, hardcoded" ... :/
