Enemy spotted! Enemy Spotted! *gasp* Enemy Spotted! Enemy Spotted! Enemy Spotted!
This is something that drives me absolutely nuts when i'm playing BF2.
If the commander uses his spotting features... damn, him pointing out 15 foot soldiers is the most annoying repetitive sound on earth.
Is possible for PR to swap out these sounds with some a little more subtle... like.. maybe a ping or something?
There is way too much com frequency going on at once and it drives me nuts. Couple that with the VOIP and you'll never hear anything but voices.
I usually move very carefully and like the atmosphere of the battle to seep in so I can get the tactical mindset going. Kind of hard to do with "Enemy Boat Spotted" on a land map.
EDIT: And let's not forget "Get first Aid Here!" "Get First Aid Here!" "Get First Aid Here!" "Get ammo here!" "Ammo, right here!"

For real!
I agree. I cant count how many times i wished i could mute the damn commander. And it's not usually the commanders fault. The only thing the commander can do now is spot out enemies and hearing that "Enemy infantry spotted" **** over and over and over again gets VERY annoying...
Normally i like to crank up the volume and become totally emmersed. But with that **** spamming every 2-3 minutes, no way...

This would be an excellent way of subduing the voicce over, while maintaining the commanders usefullness. It would also act to alert the individual to nearby danger, as you would know that you only hear the shout if the enemy is within a certain distance from you.solodude23 wrote:I think there should be no sound for it, its not needed. Or maybe if you could make it if it as enemy in your perimiter, like when it notify's you of a friendly arty or supply drop.

Yeah, but a battle is crazy and the comms are always busy. It's called the fog of war bub! But I do agree that the "first aid" and "ammo" spams are annoying.Artnez.com wrote:There is way too much com frequency going on at once and it drives me nuts. Ok.'[R-DEV wrote:CobraPhantom']And its not just that the constant spamming is annoying, i think the actual voices need to be redone to have a more realistic feel, say when someone calls for reinforcements, you can hear yelling/gun battle in the background.
Sounds good to me. I agree!

Wow man..Screaming may be a little bit much..lol. I think distraut might work.solodude23 wrote:I agree with Cobra. That would rock. ANd instead of saying it calm and nicley, it would seem they would have fear and anger in their screaming voices.
Only thing is, wher you guys gonna get the sounds? Recording them yourself is always cool if you can convert the files.

If we can get some "realistic" sounding voice actors, then it should not pose a serious problem.
The problem is finding good actors....
If they sound like me, half the PR community will laugh itself into a hernia and the other half will puke. The third half will just go crazy!
You want proof? Just ask Artnez.....

lol, nah, ill take your word for it!
Well, who knows. I have a good soldier voice. Depends on whats being said. Plus with a little voice alteration it should be easy to do.

Well there is a good part to this...
The community is huge and based all around the globe.
Hopefully you'll implement the russian forces, in which case I can do russian voices
I can make my voice pretty deep and very russian-soldier-like if I want.

That could actually work in a tactical environment.Artnez.com wrote:lol no way! Your voice would be perfect. Seriously, try out doing this right now:

Make my enemies laugh so hard they can't aim! I'll be sort of a human flash bang grenade!
