Aircraft being way to twichy.

Post by JKRMAUI »

On the ground. I've noticed Little birds have a nack for flipping on their side out of now where on flat surfaces. And the planes tend to "rocket" from a still to super turbo in nothing flat *once their warmed up*

I'm not sure if this is intentional "noob" weeding or not.

Just saying, this isn't an Aggressive thread. Please don't take it that way. I was just curious of why the .6 birds react like a 13 year old on Red Bull and Crack to sudden movement or flashing lights.

Other than the ground operation of the aircraft I love them. Flying the F16s and A10s, and their MEC and PLA counterparts is wonderful. They just seem to.....ALL GO or NO GO with barely any turning on the ground.

Maybe add a towing vehicle to pull the aircraft on the field...for take offs and the like. Just a thought :smile:

Or if any one has any tips please..I'm all ears. I use as much throttle control as I can, meaning I don't gun it. I know how to taxi a plane. These things taxi like....bottle rockets...

It feels like they have no middle ground from Still to Lighting.

~~~~~~or Maybe its just me :P
I second his suggestion, someone told me on a server the Devs (do?) have plans to fix the whole aircraft taxi issue.. Although I'm not sure if this holds any truth.
It's extremely frustrating attempting to taxi the planes, you have to accelerate the plane to 90+ thrust in order to get it to start moving, and when that happens it just takes off (usually into a wall).
For the Littlebirds flipping over, I take it this is after you've landed them? Don't land in a hurry (if you're on a pad). Bring it in nice and slow, hover for while and gently descend (to cushion the landing). You'll still get the tilting motion, but it will be a hell of a lot easier to control.
TAxiing already works wonderful with A10 an Frogfoot (the Falcon and the Fulcrum seem not to work). When I'm sittin in an A10 I wait until it's warmed up.
After that I put the throttle to about 20% (extremely important: not higher than 20%... or the plane will speed up for take off) then I just push the Joystick forwar as if I wanted to dive into the ground --> Jet rolls forward. to turn the plane on the ground you have to turn your joystick around the y-axis (yaw or pitch I don't know) AND push forward.
Remember: F16 and Mig seem not to work
I agree with the 20% thing, but, and this is a big BUT, the jet by no stretch of the imagination "rolls" gently forward, infact as soon as it moves you have to back the throttle back to about 7% while YAWing hard right, getting out of the hanger on Kashan(sp?) or you just run straight across the runway into the wall. :o
Im with this Topic on the Ground Taxing Promblem and if the Devs want to include Nice Proper Runways+Airfields into PR Maps then i do Hope it will be Fixed, If not we are Doomed to the vBf2 Straight-Deploy-anywhere-Runways.
But knowing how Good the Devs are they Probably already have it Fixed, Then all we will need is a Sonic Boom once we break Mach 2 in our Migs :lol:
yeah, I'm sure the Devs are on it, The A10 isn't an issue for me...the F16s and Migs drive me bonkers. I was laughing so hard on one of the yest servers....some guy had an Abrams Push the F16 on to the field....I was cracking up so hard you have no idea. Thats getting creative...he was also working magic with the planes that were landing to rearm.....so classic! :lol: :lol:
O yeah, can we get a sonic boom at 1100 Kmph? or is that hardcoded? If so, I hope a F16 breaks the sound barrier over the EA office ;)
Was actually just thinking, if it was possible to add a sound effect at the sonic speed, sorta like a big kaboom, when you hit the barrier...and some noise in your ears (same as explosion effect) :)
I don't know about a sonic boom, but I know it is possible to cancel out most of the sounds the pilot hears when the jet goes faster than the speed of the sound. PoE has that with their jets.
go 3000 meters up and 3000 kph and the sound goes away ... at least thats what happened when i did it.
To take off at Kashan, let it warm up, give it full thrust, and once it starts to move press 'Shift' for the afterburners while pulling up as much as possible. You'll clear the barrier without having to turn or taxi at all.
Actually, pilots themselves cannot hear the sonic boom. You are going faster than the speed of sound, so therefore you're ahead of the sound, so yea.
